Surprise Spring Snowstorm

Published 2024-05-07
Remember the fake-out spring thaw in late March followed by a snowy first half of April that was followed by warm, even hot spring days? Surely spring was here for good, no more snow, right? Well, not so fast! Not too long ago, it seemed winter decided to return, like Old Man winter forgot his hat. This was an original song composed to capture the feel of a late snowstorm, this one taking place in mid-spring. We don't expect to see snow in April, let alone in early May, right? Well, here it seemed like mother nature fell back asleep for a brief catnap, this piece contains both winter and spring sounds. You'll notice in this original composition that the first half has a very wintry sound to it, it's a mix of the magic of Christmas snow and the first snowfall of November, as a snowstorm happening so late has the same novelty, the melancholy of the midwinter, albeit less harsh and intense, the uplifting chill of late winter, but a bit of spring sound as well. A spring snow storm is a unique occurrence that is hard to accurately capture in song format. It's not easy. In the music video for my original song, you can see the snow arrive, fall, and its effects over the next day where it stays cold, the next night, almost as cold, more snow, then it finally melts off. Not much snow fell but enough to disrupt things. And so I hope you found this song depicting a late spring snowstorm to be enjoyable!

PS: Please read the pinned comment regarding an announcement. I've kinda been spreading myself way too thin and I think some people just see it from their end, not realizing my life isn't as exciting as in the songs. Unlike what is depicted in the song stories, Victoria and I don't go to Siberia, the tropics, the Bering Strait, Antarctica, and certainly not outer space! I wish! In fact, real life is far less exciting. What you don't see is that I live paycheck to paycheck, busting my ass on all fronts. I'm helping my elderly father out quite a lot, while I deal with arthritis, something called degenerative disc disease in my back, and lifelong complications from a flu I had in 2018, forcing me to need medication that keeps me awake late at night. I try to be there for everyone, but I can't. I'm no superhero, not at all. I feel shitty some days, but I have good days. We all feel like shit some days, but damn, I just wish I felt less shitty. I want to be there for everyone at all times, but I can't. I know that, but it sucks like hell.

  • PLEASE BE SURE TO WATCH THE ENTIRE VIDEO START TO FINISH WITHOUT SKIPPING AHEAD OR CLICKING AWAY TO ANOTHER WINDOW, IT'S ACTION PACKED AND THERE'S SO MUCH TO SEE AND ENJOY, I WOULND'T WANT YOU TO MISS ANYTHING, ALSO CLICKING AWAY EVEN JUST FOR A SECOND MAKES YOUR VIEW AND WATCH TIME NOT COUNT but most importantly, I want you to get the full experience. Also, on a less pleasant note, we need to talk. Some people get the mistaken idea that I'm leaving them out in the cold (pun intended) because I'm not giving them my full undivided attention or watching their stuff as soon as it comes out, maybe there's a delay in my comment, maybe my comments aren't as detailed and eloquent as they were years ago. There's various reasons, and none of them are that I'm letting my "fame" go to my head (what fame? My district magistrate is more well-known than I am) or that I'm ignoring anyone. Here's the reality of the situation: It's hard for me to type a lot these days, I have arthritis all through my body and when I type, I make lots of typos and have to constantly correct them. I'm a musician so I have to preserve my hands as much as possible. If I type a lot of stuff and don't constantly correct it, it looks like it was typed by a small child. Also, I have a lot more friends on here than I did three years ago. It's a lot harder to keep up with thousands of regular viewers than with a few hundred. Also, like everyone, I have a life outside of YouTube. What you see in the videos isn't an animated vlog, it's a fantasy. I don't get to bring Victoria on those really extravagant vacations to the Bering Strait or Antarctica or the Rock of Gibraltar or whatever, Tom and Joe's however is a real diner in my town, in fact I live paycheck to paycheck, spend a lot of time helping out my elderly father, and I'm dealing with lifelong complications of the flu I had in 2018. I also maintain my late mother's websites. It's not as easy as it sounds, trust me on that. This brings me to my next point. Please listen to what I have to say as it's very important. There are some people who think watching your friends' YouTube videos is an obligation and that you're a bad friend if you don't always watch their videos as soon as they come out or write elaborate beautiful comments. You should be watching my videos because you like them, not as a favor to me because I watched your videos, and it shouldn't be something you withhold because I haven't been "keeping up my end of the bargain" or whatever. I watch your videos because I like them. If someone makes videos that don't interest me, I'm not going to watch in the name of being a "good friend", it would be unfair to me and them. I don't want to just say "good video". My comments may not be as elaborate and articulate as before, but I do try. I promise. And if I'm not interested, it doesn't mean they're bad videos, just that they're not my cup of tea. And so from now on, I'm going to be uploading a lot less frequently because I've been pouring so much time into YouTube, depriving myself of sleep, and I won't be watching as many videos at a time. If it means my view count drops to pre-2022 levels, so be it. I consider you friends and I do genuinely enjoy your content, but please understand that there's a lot more going on than how things look from your side. I know this doesn't apply to 99% of you, but this needed to be said because quite honestly I think some people take me for granted and expect too much for me. I'm a regular human being with health issues, not Superman.. PS: I know some might call me a hypocrite for writing all this, but I only had to write it once and it took me nearly an hour to write all this out. I can't write like this hundreds of times in a day. But I just wanted to let you know the twice weekly uploads are coming to an end, and I may not get to you as quickly as before. If you don't want to watch my videos anymore because I'm not watching yours or leaving good enough comments, that's fine. I'm not going to beg you to stay. I want people who actually like my content and watch for fun.

The spring scenery has returned to mid-winter. Will the snow melt and real spring arrive, or will there still be unseasonable snow? The sky is fickle, it's a mystery! Thank you for the wonderful music! ๐Ÿ‘โœจ

It sounds like you've been through a lot recently. Your song capturing the surprise spring snowstorm is a beautiful way to express the unexpected turns of nature. Life's challenges, like dealing with health issues and caregiving, can be incredibly tough, and it's okay to acknowledge those struggles. Thank you for sharing! We in Mid and Lower Michigan have seen the negative effects of climate change less severe than most areas of the country. These past few Winters have been downright pleasant. A big kudos 36! Cheers!

Even now, the weather in Korea is changing uncontrollably. I support the great music that tells a story with a like 37.๐Ÿ˜Š๐Ÿ’•
  • I loved seeing how fickle the weather can be in spring in your story ! The wintery and spring sounds in the music came together expressing the exact sentiment ! Thank you for sharing your unique artistry too with the combination of snow and spring sights and the snow melted as quickly as it came , I also enjoy the chats with Victoria in Tom and Joeโ€™s diner , conversations and good food are always a good time . Donโ€™t worry Altoona , just create as long as it is fun and you can always do it at your own pace , donโ€™t burn out and take care of your health and those immediate around you ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿผwishing you a happy healthy week!๐Ÿ˜Š
