Traversing The Treacherous Bering Strait In Winter

This original song is something I haven't made in years, a seashore song. I've shared archive ones from years ago, but this is the first new one that I made since 2021. It's also the end of an era in more ways than one, and thus, will mark the end of my current era. For starters, the Lowrey Micro-Genie slowly is losing functionality and I had to work around those issues in this, also, my pet bird Sonny died that you may have heard in songs over the years. Unlike in real life, I did not take a road trip with Victoria to go bury him at sea in this huge complex of nesting locked boxes, but instead just buried him within the back yard near where the cats are. As shitty as it is that he died, I was able to make a tribute in a colder than hell location. Now, as for the song itself, it was nice to make another icy midwinter song but also a freezing cold seashore song. I'd not done a lot of winter-themed seashore songs that took place on a beach. It really enhances the "holy shit is it cold" factor. For some reason, most of my seashore songs historically are tropical based (although the first one almost sounds like Christmas music and the sound I most frequently used until June 2012 was a dark maritime sound). One thing I did that was uncommon with seashore songs in the past was have most of the music part take place in the second half instead of the first half. The old early 90s keyboard with the waw voice also made its triumphant return after a multi-year absence. Most importantly, for the first time in quite a long time, I didn't feel weird when recording a song, which means it's the end of the dry era of music for me but also that after this, there will be some differences in how things are done. That said, I hope you enjoy this icy seashore song I did! I've been feeling pretty damn creative recently.

PLEASE WATCH THIS VIDEO THE WHOLE WAY THROUGH AND WITHOUT SKIPPING AHEAD OR CLICKING AWAY TO ANOTHER WINDOW, I GIVE A FEW IMPORTANT UPDATES ON THINGS IN THIS SONG AT A FEW POINTS and explain certain things about the location as well as the style of song. Also, yes, my pet bird Sonny really did die, and that really is him that you can hear in a lot of songs I made from 1999-2013 and late 2017, however, I did not take a road trip with Victoria to the Bering Strait just to bury him at sea. He's buried in a secret location in my back yard where my cats that died over the years are buried as well. This is also the end of an era. The last song recorded (but not the last to be uploaded) that will feature the Micro-Genie. Beginning in March, I'll post songs made January 24 and after, which is part of my new era of music. The good news is that the creative drought is officially over!
