The Unforgiving Chill Of Frigid Hudson Bay

Published 2023-12-29
Happy New Year! I hope everyone had a very merry Christmas! This original song of mine is the first icy midwinter song of the 2023-2024 winter season. It is also my unofficial New Year's song, even though it barely mentions the new year. As it's still the holiday season, I want to ease everyone into what I call my icy midwinter songs, so this is kind of a transition piece. It contains a mix of a festive holiday instrument set blended with an icy winter set but this composition is meant to evoke a blistering chill. The original winter song that I'm using to bridge the gap between early and mid winter is set on the coast of the Hudson Bay in Canada near one of its few lighthouses. Victoria came along for our date and was mighty surprised at how cold it was and how well I was handling things considering I needed a jacket and she didn't when she wore a sleeveless dress on Christmas when it was around the freezing point. I give a lot of information about the frozen Hudson Bay region but also give a reading of Snow Bound in the text, much more than usual. Quoting this poem by John Whittier in my icy winter songs has become a tradition of sorts. This icy setting was kind of perfect for easing everyone into my frigid winter stuff. There's also a lot of new and original artwork, including the aforementioned lighthouse and despite the bay being frozen, an animation of the lighthouse spinning. There's also some new and improved northern lights artwork that's a big improvement over the "neon bacon" shit I drew four years ago. That said, I hope you all have a happy New Year and enjoy this composition. This one is meant to ease you into the winter, it still sounds a little festive but the future original songs of winter won't. Included as well is a link to the full transcript of John Whittier's poem "Snow Bound" that I quote in frigid midwinter songs. Sorry if I'm slow to reply, feeling kind of shitty, I've been under the weather lately.

BE SURE TO WATCH THE ENTIRE VIDEO WITHOUT SKIPPING AHEAD OR CLICKING TO ANOTHER WINDOW, THERE ARE MANY SMALL STORY ELEMENTS THAT I INCLUDED FOR VIEWERS THAT WILL BE MISSED, I SPEND A LOT OF TIME TO CRAFT A STORY FOR YOU IN MY MUSIC VIDEO FOR MY SONG AND ADD A FEW EASTER EGGS IN THE SONG all as a special treat for my viewers. It takes up to a week to create these, it's a labor of love. But it's all well worth it when I hear about how much you enjoyed the song. This one is meant to evoke the feeling of the icy midwinter and is also an unofficial New Year's song, kind of bridging the gap between the festive and jolly warmth of holiday music and the blistering chill of midwinter music, containing elements of both. It's not as harshly frigid sounding as the music you'll bear in January and February, but it's much colder than my Christmas music. Thank you for all for making this another great year! You are the reason YouTube remains fun for me. I love hearing your thoughts on my music. Once again, thank you all so much and I hope you had a merry Christmas πŸŽ„πŸŽ… and have a Happy New Year! πŸ₯³πŸŽ‰ I'm looking forward to bringing you more great music and stories in 2024! And there's a solar eclipse I want to film in April. ⚫
