About ChaoFengChineseOrchestra肇風中樂團

Chao Feng Chinese Orchestra (CFCO) 肇風中樂團 is a community musical group based in Melbourne, and run by volunteers . Established in 1982 by a group of enthusiastic musicians, it is the first, the largest and longest-running Chinese Orchestra in Australia and has become a focal point for the development of Chinese music in Australia.

The Orchestra stage one Majior concert and one Free admission concert each year. In addition, the Orchestra conducts educational workshops, participates in community fund-raising activities, multicultural arts festivals, Chinese community festivals and general community cultural events. It’s repertoire covers not only traditional, but contemporary work as well, including new arrangements of world classics and fresh approaches in performing Australian folk music, it has close ties with Chinese orchestras from Hong Kong, Singapore, Malaysia, Taiwan and Canada.

On 14/12/2021, CFCO was registered at ACNC as a Charity.
