My mom got sick, I looked after her for 2 years, I bathed her and took care of her colostomy etc, she passed 3 years ago, I miss her so much. I would have cared for her for 100 more years. She was never a burden, it was a privelage. 😢

my wife and i are elderly (70s) and she is so terribly disabled. it is a victory each day when she can totter to the bathroom and back to her couch "bed". meals, coffee, italian delivery, snacks, i do it all for her. she's all i have, and this video made me weep for Urs.

I think one message in the film could be that the mom had lived a full life with rich memories of her home land. Like the crumbling home and the goat that once bare milk, the mom accepted her fate. The son wasn't ready to lose his elderly mom and wanted desperately to take her with him. There wasn't more for her to see beyond her home. She treasures her memories and just wanted to cherish the time she had left with her son. The stone signifies stories from her past of a home she loved and belonged. This is why she carried it with her until the end. Very well designed film that took me along the emotional journey with each character.

It's just a cartoon, but... It's can start to hold my breath, when he started to climbing the rock
  • This animation remind me the hard time my mom and I went through, maybe the script is about Urs's journey, but I'm personally moved by what Urs did for his aging mother. Family is never a burden, it's the source of strength.

True life lessons, when you have made it in life and need your parents to enjoy the fruits of your labour, they are either too old to enjoy or even worse dead.

I moved back to my hometown and took care of my mother until she transcended, and helped my father who lived 4 miles away as they had divorced many years before. My father died first. I did whatever I could for him too. My mother died 15 yrs later. I always thought I'd have a windfall and build a new home along a river as we both liked rivers a lot, plus have a riverside studio for her to work on her writing and drawings. We looked at used small pontoon boats, and I talked of us going on the rivers and lakes around us. She would smile as we dreamed. I said that on this very big lake I would have a very simple kind of tarp sail and go with the wind then motor our way back. The windfall of money never happened, and out of a couple of pontoon possibilities both were in too bad of condition. It all never happened. It's nice to dream but did not let it overcome us. We also were happy and lived for the beauty of the present moment, each day, and did a lot of fun things. There were difficult days, but we perservered. She was my best friend ever. It was hard for me to see this beautiful animation story, but it is a great story. Thanks FABW!

I've never seen anything like this! It doesn't look like traditional animation or CGI... It's like watching a living painting if that makes sense? The background and foreground look three dimensional yet all as one at the same time. I cant imagine how much work went into just those ten minutes , with that amount of attention to detail. Really beautiful

I am impressed with the small movements of the cartoon: the mother re-adjusting her grip on the stone, the man catching himself on the rock when he looses his balance. The opening music is wonderful. Beautifully done!!!!

Moral of Story :-.. Ageing parents want to remain their left Life in their home land ..no matter what problem exists there....
  • My Parents are very old. But I want to build a home for them before they die. they are my whole life.
  • @bimbamjam
Beautifully done. It is the story of my mother & me. Reality is that removing an elderly senior from an environment they have known for years is a death sentence even though it seems the only thing to do. The elderly in a nursing home rarely live more than 2 years in that environment.

Читала коменты и плакала...как много любящих и добрых людей! Планета, ты - живая и мы все твои дети!А ты учишь нас всему тому, что и сама делаешь...заботишься! Спасибо создателям фильма!

She was from the old world, still holding on to it, even died with it. He being the next generation, simply moved on.........
  • @Akira-nw4jl
He was a faithful son but he knew he had to leave or his fate would have been much worse than hers. His only probable mistake was staying their too long being too emotionally attached to their empty town.

Супер анимация, нет слова, вот это любовь и верность,жаль что наши дни это очень редко бывают. Создатели браво вам.

I am speechless after seeing the film.....old people are so attached to their homes, as they have years full of memories there... as i am growing older, crossed 65, the same feeling is surrounding my feeling & can understand my mom's attachment, who is still with me at the age of 91..!!!
