LA VALIGIA || Stop Motion Short Film

Published 2021-01-24
An old man is sitting on the edge of a bed in a bare room with stoned walls, his face furrowed with deep wrinkles and his unkempt beard, gnarled hands still full of life, curved shoulders: he is alone and thoughtful. A small and ramshackle window with bars is the only outlet to the outside. In front of him he has a mysterious suitcase. Opening it the man finds himself in his hands the photographs and the personal effects of a whole life. Thus begins the sequence of memories and visions, synapses of the mind that come to life and invade the room of the elderly bringing him back in time, first adult then boy, finally child.

He was safe and yet could only see the world from depression. Having worked in hospice .Elderly patients , many came from well to do homes, full lives , professionals, yet dementia colored their world as this man was seeing. Unless family or friends involved him in their lives this was their experience

these videos are amazing. How the texture of the cloth and his hair ..all the details are a mystery of the art. I can only imagine the time and thought went into producing this. It' s not something taken on lightly for the devotion required. Excellent job!

An old man let his life slide by….only too late for his memories. 😔 Very Deep!

This story should be told again and again. This was my 4th or 5th time and it's well worth multiple views

Beautifully done! Thank you for uploading and sharing
  • Finalmente ho potuto rivedere questo piccolo gioiello. Non l'ho più visto da quella volta alla Cineteca di Bologna per il festival Visioni Italiane 2015. Bellissimo. Complimenti Studio Croma!

Bravo - very very very cleverly conceptualised and executed - just wonderful.
