Is This the WORST Exit for Truckers?

Is This the WORST Exit for Truckers? As I mentioned in my intro, this is an insane hotspot we are at frequently for these trailers that get stuck. The Stadium Way exit is right off the 110 Freeway, which itself is right off the 5 Freeway at this point. The 5 is a major freeway that runs from Mexico, all the way to Canada! Unfortunately this quick exit to Los Angeles is definitely not trucker friendly.

We have the same game plan to do these jobs in the fastest, most efficient way possible. Utilizing the strength and versatility of the rotator, we are able to get parallel with the trailer, then lift the rear and swing it up to dozens of feet over to allow the trailer to clear the ramp. Sometimes they get stuck on the guardrail itself or in-between the large wooden posts. Those jobs require a bit more finesse, but still done in the same fashion.

Then just because the trailer is free does NOT mean the job is done. Sometimes they'll need a second swing to clear the bottom of the offramp, especially when there's a Dodger game going on and the street is packed. Luckily that was not the case in this job.

I know of the famous 11'8" bridge YouTube channel, but do you guys know of any other freeway exit where these truckers get stuck at as frequently? And if you're a fan and would like more, become a member! I post all my deleted videos here and other perks: youtube.com/channel/UCZWWhEWXnICilVJ-U22rniA/join

  • When I first started as a truck driver, I used Google maps on my phone for navigation. Then I ended up going across the Golden Gate Bridge, and driving through downtown San Francisco in a 75 foot long tractor trailer. I was new though, so I kept with it. Then I ended up on a narrow windy mountain road that had me scraping trees with the nose of the tractor, the front of the trailer, and the rear of the trailer...all at the same time. After getting out of that, I bought a dedicated Truckers GPS the next day.
  • ALL THIS AND A TICKET TOO !!😮 TRUCKERS NEED TO READ SIGNS 😮 THANK YOU PEPE'S 😊
  • As an old retired dispatcher I really appreciate how you all treat the people in these situations, also how safely and efficiently you handle the jobs.

Always enjoy your videos…and they almost led to me hiring you folks! I had a project in Newport Beach that would involve lifting a 17K grease interceptor into a hole from a trailer. Immediately thought of Pepe’s, and I called. I went over what I needed with a person at the shop who answered the phone, and it turned out it was Joe - Josh’s dad and owner of Pepe’s! We had a wonderful 30 minute conversation about his business, life in general, and his love for his team, his son, and his new grandchild. It was the highlight of my day…what an awesome man! It turns out the 40 ton wrecker was going to be too heavy for the bridge into town, so working on an alternative. But I was so looking forward to using Pepe’s…maybe next time! Please tell your dad Fred says hi!!! Keep up the good work!! 😁👍
  • I used the "Ya I know" to my boss today. He looked at me, he shook his head, and told me to get the hell out of his office. 😂

Good job Alex getting him out of his problem. Sometimes GPS just leads you into trouble.
  • I almost wrecked myself when I was a beginner driver in my car just exiting the Pasadena parkway on a 90 degree, short exit. Locked up the breaks, hit curb, stopped 8 feet or so into intersection that was thankfully empty. Just needed wheel alignment. Scary event!
  • Great video. Interrupted me (fantastic) from cleaning the grout on the kitchen floor. Alex is one great ambassador for PEPE's Tow, thanks everyone for their help including the old guy (my age) that tried to help. Great job.

You are always so kind even when you know the driver screwed up That’s aways kind of you for not being judgmental
  • I thought they had signed up saying no trucks at being of the 110 , truck atlas says not used this road. I think signs saying truck must exit.

I can never get the family to sit down and spend time together. UNTIL THEY HEAR THE BEEPING WHEN YOU ROTATE THE BOOM!!! We all love the videos. One suggestion to make my life better is to have that beeping at the first few seconds so they come running from all over the house. Thanks man!!!!
  • Another problem with truck drivers now speak very little or no English and that creates a bigger problem because they don't understand.
  • some interstate ramps are still like speed limit 20 mph at 22 even a auto will flip
  • Great job once again. Towing and the equipment sure has changed since 1979 when I got out of towing. Pepe's is a perfect example of how it's done right. God bless all of the crew there.

This because truck drivers now are poorly trained. They get a 3 week crash course and they turn them loose. There was a way to get around that curve without getting stuck. I drove for 30 years by the way, retired 2 weeks ago.
  • This video pretty much sums up trucking in 2024
