Today we’re going up SpaceX's Orbital Launch Tower with the ultimate tour guide, Elon Musk. He’s going to walk us around the bottom, explain how they plan to catch the booster with the chopsticks and then we'll go up the elevator stopping at the quick disconnect and on the upper deck!

Love that quote from Elon. “At Space X we specialize in converting things from impossible to late”
  • @rong1924
NASA: "Failure is not an option!" Elon: "Success is one of the possible outcomes."
  • Man, I think the biggest and coolest take away from this is watching Elon actually take in the view for the first time. You can tell that he is probably always so focused on the project that he never stops to just take a look and appreciate the beauty of the world around him. And you could tell he was almost in awe of his own creation, taking it in for the first time like everybody else there. A man like that probably doesn't get a chance to just stop and appreciate very often.

No Rolex, No Gucci just a 20$ Shirt 🤣🤣🙌🏽

Best Elon quote was on catching the booster: “This is completely untested.. but success is one of the possible outcomes”

Elon giving the tour feels like its also a chance for himself to take in this creation. He had the "5" minutes to slow down and enjoy the view, while having a conversation with someone who is genuinely interested.
  • Congrats to your growth too Tim. From little self-made videos about rockets to multiple personal interviews with Elon, Beck, and others your channel has come a long way.

I’m convinced everyone who hates on Elon just hasn’t seen stuff like this. It’s so inspiring. You get the sense he’s never actually been up there, cause he’s been so busy working on it, he hasn’t even enjoyed the cool parts of his work. Much respect to this man.

This video is phenomenal. Perfect. The silence and quiet parts of the video are really important, and I love that there are no cuts. It feels so much more real. Thank you so much Tim.

"At SpaceX we specialize in converting things from 'impossible' to 'late'." Might be both one of the funniest and also coolest things Elon has said in person.
  • @Johnny_Savage
Elon has almost completely lost the South African accent by now
  • @telsat
This is the best video of all time. This was technical, philosophical and overall view of the Starbase especially interviewing Elon up in the launch tower. Fantastic

He must have a lot of respect for you to let you do these walks with him and give you so much of his time. What an awesome series!! Keep it up!! 🚀
  • This was such a great experience. Thank you to everyone who made this happen. Also, huge respect to all of those at SpaceX. Dare to dream
  • I just rewatched this video, and I just realized how awesome the last shot of Elon is. Hes walking away into the distance while your music plays. That feels like a movie ending!
  • "Can we go up in the tower?" . When you said those words, you had no idea what magic would unfurl up there. Great stuff Tim!!
  • @bosenose4837
I love that you just asked for what you wanted. For instance, when you said, “can we go up in the tower?” I feel as though people are sometimes intimidated by Elon’s slow/thoughtful responses. Great video and series.
  • What I love about this video is how much in awe Elon is with his own creation at the top of the tower when he was taking his panoramic.
  • As a life-long construction guy, I know that wandering around after the crew has gone home, gives way to some of the most creative ideas. It's so cool going around the site with a very human Elon.
