This week we will be looking at the list of performance upgrades that SpaceX made to the mechanical systems of the Orbital Launch Mount. This includes adding a significant amount of redundancy features to prevent the failure of important safety systems. We will also be examining the new sensor upgrades which will should help prevent the Super Heavy Booster from colliding with the Orbital Launch Mount.

  • Weekly updates on Starbase from other creators is fantastic, but this channel is by far the most accurate source of detailed technical information on the whole operation. Major props to you and everyone who helps make these videos possible! They are invaluable to the entire community!
  • @stackocakes
FYI, as a control systems designer, the 'gold' valve is for Safety, the 'Silver' valve is for controls. You're correct about the position switch vs position transmitter. They typically run on two separate controllers and the safety side acts as "permission" (permissives) for the process controls system from a programming standpoint. The valve doubling acts as a higher SIL level for safety integrity. Great video as usual.
  • Easily the best forensic channel yet on Starship development.
  • @rstomahawkty
INSANE VIDEO. The level of technical detail and clear explanations make these videos invaluable. Obviously building rockets is complicated, but these videos show just how complicated even the most simple of this are. I am shocked an April launch is even possible given all the complexities. Also, the turnaround time between your last video and this video was shockingly fast, it really shows how hard you are working! Keep it up and can't wait for the next one!
  • @jellybean7994
Your theory on the 31 engine static fire towards the end just makes complete sense🤯👍
  • This channel's output is unique, and absolutely excellent. Many thanks once more!
  • @kauffmanba
Dang, Zack! You and your team have really done a lot of work here. You have dug up a lot of clues and solved complex puzzles; then summarized everything with great visuals so viewers can understand.
  • Hands down the best SpaceX videos on YT. People who are into Space and not watching your stuff are missing out, big time.
  • @RedPixel2023
These videos definitely shows us the visual iceberg of what SpaceX is achieving behind what is obviously seen on YouTube. Most of us cheer at every successful launch yet the sheer efforts of the team not seen is quie actually staggering.
  • There is no other SpaceX info channel that is as interesting and as fun to watch as this.
  • @damonried1720
Outstanding coverage and detailed analysis of SpaceX activities. This is indeed unprecedented coverage of any space rocket development. What a wonderful time to be alive!
  • As a now retired Instrument & Controls Engineer (of 42 years) this video was very engaging and very insightful! Well done and hope to see more like it.👍👍
  • @sgfx
A year ago, when I first stumbled upon your channel, I must admit I found it a tad cheesy. It didn't seem to offer much more than a dozen others out there. However, like a fine wine, your work has matured, and your virtual backgrounds have grown up too. Your ability as an outsider to reverse engineer these complex facilities is thoroughly impressing. Your presentation and production skills have reached new heights. So keep going, and don't forget to keep sprinkling that special "cheez" that makes your content so enjoyable.
  • I am very impressed with your thorough analysis of Stage 0 in this video. Your insights are a reflection of your extensive engineering background which afford viewers a deep dive into how Space X is progressing toward launch.
  • @ashtorak
StarbaseSim dev here: While you can do things like switching off individual engines, the stuff on the left side, the cross sectional view and the force vectors are not available in the current version as I made this just for Zack and with the help of the Unity editor. Download link is in the video description.
  • @waynefairley
Mind blown! By SpaceX for their thoughtful designs. By Starbase folks for the diligent implementation. By you for the careful observation and analysis. Just wow! We are undeserving beneficiaries of your hard work. Thank you.:trophy-yellow-smiling:
  • Kudos to you Stage Zero Zack, and the entire CSI Starbase team for another outstanding deep dive. Keep it coming sir.
  • This channel has quickly become the most interesting of all starship content
