Starship IFT-2 from just outside of the exclusion zone.

Sorry this is super late. I originally wasn’t going to post this footage but changed my mind. Hope you enjoy!

This is my first time tracking something moving this quickly. Also my first time using manual focus while tracking. You can see the times where I lost focus and had to re-adjust.

That thing is so freaking massive, in how it looks, in how it sounds, in how it's named, in the launch pad, in how excited it makes me! Just everything about it. Awesome to feel like humanity is daring something cool and insane.
  • @lyricbread
The sound must have been absolutely unreal in-person. 😮
  • @v-q-np15
It's amazing how you captured the whole flight with such a good quality, even staging! everything looks so clear, amazing work!
  • @SebastianWellsTL
Such a beautiful machine! It's amazing how clean those engines burn!
  • That sound is insane. I read years ago that the loudest man-made sustained sound (other than a nuclear blast) was the launch of a Saturn V at 203 decibels. I wonder how Starship compares to that in terms of decibel level, given that it's more than twice as powerful.

Them rocket engines were SPANKING the air HARD! All of that SNAPPING and CRACKLING!!! That's just on my speakers in my computer. Can you imagine what that sounded like in person?!
  • @lo12310
I am in love with the salmon plume
  • @dongreer
Easily the third most amazing thing I've ever watched, behind the birth of my two kids, and just ahead of the launch of Apollo 17 when I was a kid. Gotta make it down to Boca Chica in person at some port to see it with my own eyes.
  • @SpenserFL
Holy fuck the sound is crazy. Must be something else to experience in person.
  • @JLP734
What I love about this is it captures what it's like to watch as a spectator, not a master camera operator. Thanks Zack, this is epic!!!!
  • @EVGizmo
That sound is just something else - thank you for getting us this vantage point of the event. 33 Raptors. Just incredible.
  • @lukedeehan2011
Incredible footage. This is more sci-fi than some actual sci-fi
  • @barthchris1
That was incredible with headphones on! I can’t imagine what it’s like irl.

Absolutely best launch coverage of the 2nd Super Heavy - Starship test flight. 1.... good positioning, 2.... good tracking, 3.... nice steady camera work. 4.... and ..... NO distracting mini image box tucked up into a top corner showing the commentators behaving like cheer leaders gone wild. I wanted to watch that rocket fly and you just "Delivered" sir. Full screen, with no distractions. You just earned your self another subscription sir. Most thoroughly enjoyed it Zak. Keep up the good work.
  • @ross077
Not just insane audio, outstanding tracking too, nice one Zack.

Thanks S0ZG! Love the almost atmospheric nebula at the end. First time I saw that its full glory!
