Toby Keith's Son Shares Emotional Tribute to His Father

I met him years ago in Afghanistan. I sat and had dinner with him at the chow hall at Bagram Air Base. We talked about our kids and general life stuff. He was so humble and kind.after dinner I went to work. When I walked in from the flightline he was sitting in our break room. I spoke with him and his team and asked if he would like to go out to the jets. I brought him out and he signed one of the bombs and I got him up into the cockpit and he hand me his phone to take a picture of him in the cockpit. He was very grateful and great guy.

A Believer, A Husband, A Father, A Grandfather, A Friend, A Leader, A Patriot, An Icon… miss him forever.

.I chauffeured his wife, daughter and sister in law. Such wonderful, kind people. I thank God for the honor and privilege of meeting them

I'm 66 yrs old. A fan of not only Country music , but grew up with classic rock and roll and heavy metal. Toby stood out in my mind and heart for his passion and abilities for song writing and performing. His faith and support for the military and family is what I will remember about him.

No other entertainer and musical icon has affected me like Toby Keith. Not just his musical talent, but what he represented regarding his love of family, Country, humanitarian and love of veterans like myself. Thank you Toby, for being here for those who loved you and followed you through your career. I know you are in good hands now! Namaste. From a Vietnam Era Marine Corps veteran.

I have seen many entertainers pass in my 70 plus years. But haven't seen or felt the outpouring of love and respect that Toby Keith has been receiving. And well deserved. RIP and thank you for being a man we all can love and admire.

I was there, serving in Mosul, Iraq 2004, when I saw this wonderful man perform some great music for us. I will always remember how energetic and kind he was to us. He was the ONLY celebrity with the courage to visit us in a warzone while we were being attacked. Everyone else stayed in Kuwait, were there was zero chance of danger. I will always admire this man for his courage. Til Valhalla, Mr. Keith.

I can’t think of any other famous person whose passing has upset me more. I’ve shed tears every day as if I knew him personally. Now I’m seeing just how great he really was. Gone too soon.

Has there ever been a bad word about Toby Keith.. no.. he was just amazing.. a true lost to true country music and my heart goes out to his Family. I've just always been a fan since the 90's.. my heart is hurting.. I can't imagine what his family is going through right now.. Love and condolences to them. Especially Tricia

My son and I own a small cafe in North Collins, New York. We will forever remember Toby Keith stopping in on his Indian Motorcycle and having a burger at 8:00 am. He had done a concert a couple nights before in Niagara falls and was heading to another in Michigan we made small talk by me saying "Has anyone ever told you you look like Toby Keith." He laughed and said "that's a good one Toby Keith " we enjoyed his short stay and found out later he was friends with a man who owned the East Eden Tavern in Eden, New York. We never asked for a picture or a autograph. Just let him be him. Enjoyed this moment with him very much. Bless his family in their sorrow. He will never be forgotten. A wonderful human being.
