Because of the harsh climate in Yakutia, in most of the rural areas there are no water treatment facilities, and pipes freeze during the long winter, making ice from the lake the main source of drinking water...

  • Brings about a whole new level of respect for access to water. Thank you for sharing this with the world.
  • I've been complaining a lot about my life lately since all I do is basically study all day everyday including week ends. I really thought my life was hard, but when I see what obstacles people have to face just to be able to do things that I take for granted in other countries, I truly realize that my life isn't that hard and I should be more grateful of it haha Thank you for your videos, they allow me to see the world in a bigger picture ( if that makes any sense ) and relativize about my small problems !
  • Hello All at Yakutia, I've always fancied myself as a bit of a self sufficient 'mountain man' living out in the back woods of northern Canada. but after watching this, boy have I changed my mind!!

i love how precious they treat the water with so much respect. They worked so hard to get it so it makes sense but still really awesome
  • This hardwork is a nice bonding for the family that makes their relationship strong. Less distractions from the outside world. When life is easier and convenient, most men found themselves succumb in bad things like gambling, womanizing, alcohol and drug addiction that leads to marriage troubles. GOD bless Yakutz. Thänks a lot Kiun for showing us your lifestyle. Greetings from Belle in the Philippines.

I have so much respect for people living in such harsh environments! We should appreciate easy access to water and warmth more. I would never survive in this cold, I would die from an illness and depression within weeks 😂 I get sick when it gets below 10°C here already and there’s wind blowing when I don’t have a scarf on and the cold makes me almost depressed every year. They’re so strong! 🙌🏻
  • Love your video ....... thanks for these videos .. getting to know so much from this about the different life style .. even to get drinking water .. the difficulties and yet all the people coming together and being happy with everything... love from India 🇮🇳

Thank you so much for these! They are so informative and allow me to build a bigger picture about how life is around the world compared to the little corner I’ve always been apart of. This culture shows me that there are people out there who depend on one another and work as a community rather than an individual!
  • It's a tough matter for the family to mine for water like this on a regular basis . We appreciate kiun and her team for fixing this video , braving weather, power shortage issues and health compromises . I hope you and the family filmed are benefited from this video . 💜

I love all that you share about Yakutia and appreciate the hard lifestyle. We need to appreciate just how easy some of us have it. I was without water for two weeks due to a leak. Not freezing but had to haul it. A pain! I also love the sound of your voice and accent. I find it very soothing and comforting. Prayers to all Yakutian's that their winter is safe and they are well.

With a life like this and a family like this, children become happy and contented people whose meaning in life is not just consumption. Otherwise, Yakutia is obviously a beautiful country and it's a lot of fun to learn more about it!
  • Yakutia has the richest indigenous diamond deposits in Russia, where about 1,500 have been discovered to date kimberlite pipes.

This amazing people have no time for depression or anxiety. They live life as it used to be for all humankind. Respect!
  • I sometimes even melt the snow in my area and use it to water my plants! All the idea comes to you! Thank you for making me save my water! ❤️

That cup of tea must be real good after that work in the cold! It's so great, and impressive, to see such intense work and cooperation to attain what's necessary for survival. Life there looks solid and beautiful, albeit cold 😊❄🌬
