Life in the coldest inhabited place on earth is not easy, and even seemingly simple daily tasks, can take a whole day!

Locals dedicate their weekend to doing laundry and washing in their wooden bathhouse, the only option for maintaining personal hygiene in a region without running water.

This is one of those videos where you realize you probably couldn't do this longer than a week. Lot of respect for these people.

7:00 I love that the little one is chewing on the dumpling dough, and when she sees that her family have noticed, she offers them the dough that she was eating. I love that babies always do that, it's both generous and silly, like they know that they are enjoying eating this thing and want to share, but don't realize yet that other people don't want to share their partly-chewed food.
  • It was cold outside, but the home was warm and cosy and full of love.
  • It's really wonderful to come across people who freely share valuable information online. You never know what kind of knowledge you might stumble upon that could have a lasting impact on your life.
  • The boy's delight in seeing his mother making dumplings made my day.
  • I like how excited the son was when he asked if mom was making dumplings. Reminded me of being a boy and being happy when mom was making my favorite thing for dinner. People are the same all over the world

I was born in Jamaica but I came to the USA when I was 9. I landed in New York in the middle of January and was immediately met with 20°F and snow. I fell in love immediately and forgot about the Caribbean weather. I've always dreamt about being in a place where it's continually snowy and cold...and I think I just found that place. The lifestyle amuses me. It Takes me back to my roots; Doing manual labor for the things we need. It teaches patience, discipline ..and I've realized overall it makes families happier. Great documentary! Truly my dream vacation! ❄️
  • I couldn’t do this for 24 hours! This family definitely deserves recognition and respect!

Harsh climate yes, but these people have a level of peace and simplicity we could only wish for. You can tell they find joy in what we call the little things (which in reality arent little things at all). Health, good food and family.💜 much respect! Sending love from Florida, USA🍊
  • I'm from a tropical country so I can't even imagine something less than 10C.. moreover this much under 0.. so great to see other parts of the world! hope Yakutians continue to thrive ❤

It's so nice to see that the inside of the house is warm enough to wear sleeveless clothing. House looks cozy❤

I love how the parents are teaching their children how to be responsible. I feel like most kids these days aren't raised knowing how to do the basic things they'll need to know how to do. Also they spend so much time together working hard and then ending the day relaxing. Seems like a good rewarding life.
  • It was so touching when the young man came in from his bath and was scratching his young sister’s head. What a lovely family.
  • Respect to these people. There are days I feel lazy to take a shower, even though it’s so easy for me. Just hop in the shower tub and turn on the warm water and that’s it. It’s the same doing laundry. I don’t think I could survive that harsh lifestyle for long.

They all look happy. Proof that it doesn’t take much to be happy. Watching this makes me even more grateful.
  • Meanwhile, I complain about having to fold the laundry that I washed with a washing machine and dried with a dryer inside the comfort of my home and I get my groceries (and pretty much anything else I want) delivered to my front door, including already prepared restaurant food. And then I act like I’m too tired to shower and complain about how much work I’ve done before I easily get in due to my indoor plumbing. I’m a jerk.

I like the way the kids are taught by the parents at a young age to be responsible
  • The sound of their feet crunching in the snow helps to reinforce just how exceptionally cold it is. When I saw the father and son go out from the bathhouse into the frigid air my spine tingled! Here I am dreading the cold air when I step out of the shower into 20 C 😂 I love content like this. This family looks content and seem to care a lot about each other. That makes me happy.

I didn’t realize till the end that I had been smiling the entire time I was watching. What a beautiful family. Thank you for sharing this. I am from Southern California in the United States and appreciate learning about other cultures.
