Just think of what can actually be accomplished by getting intellectuals together rather than politicians.
  • Poignant, well done video. Enjoyable to see all of the trust-building and cooperation of this mission that took place when I was a teenager.
  • Spark , I am so proud of you that during the low point in the us russia relationship you put out this super important video.
  • This is Amazing!! Enjoying this. To bad we don’t have this relationship in 2022-2023!
  • I was living in Kuwait in the mid 70s and my dad was the director of the Kuwait Institute for Scientific Research (KISR) and he hosted a visit by the 3 American astronauts that linked up with the Soyuz. I was very young at the time but I remember them. They gave me one of the patches that were sewn onto the space suits for the mission. My mom still has it in a scrapbook somewhere.
  • I PRAY for USA & USSR are able & become producers of PEACE, ONCE AGAIN AMEN.
  • @bth120
This is so cool! What a time.
  • would be nice for the future of peace and human development to see this kind of co-op again.
  • There should absolutely be peace between Russia and USA. These wars are so so so stupid.
  • @LHGII
For all mankind brought me here
  • This is one of the best examples of international cooperation that could've ever been possible. Not only did that meeting in space symbolize a strong bond between the crews, it also showed the world that even during high tensions like The Cold War - there is always an opportunity to create peace. In some ways, people will see it as a netrual zone. I see it as more than simple handshakes, it seems to me that this bond was meant to be made. I believe that even the two opposite sides could one day settle differences peacefully and drink beer or vodka together.
  • I really enjoyed this looking back from 2023. I never knew Ethel details of all this. Ty❤
  • "Today the Russian Soyuz has become a taxi cab to the ISS" Famous last words
  • @1coleman8
If only we could all do this in everyday life now in the 21st Century and beyond.
  • I had two unopened packs of Apollo-Soyuz cigarettes in '75. Someone stole them off my fireplace mantel (sic. Danny Hunter)
  • Their sweet Space bromance & the hope it gave at the time had to have been immeasurable. I wish & I (as being a 🇺🇸 citizen & really only having a sort of one sided view of & trying to digest some understanding that both sides of course have heavy propaganda) I hope, to have hope we all will be able to heal & at the very least not have any ‘’M.A.D.’’ warfare.
