Check Out More Theories:    • MY BEST THEORIES

Coraline 2 is looking like it’ll never happen, so… Since 2015, I’ve analyzed the Coraline movie, making it more interesting, explaining ALL secrets and mysteries, or questions possible! A grand theory longer than the full movie… The song and soundtrack mystery, the ending, the button eyes and doll theories are simple, the Other Mother has been demystified, the Coraline book has been tied-to, all of the characters have been completely dissected, Wybie, the Beldam, the Cat, the trailer, the pink palace, behind the scenes, ALL of it. So this is the accumulation of my thirteen, EXTREMELY detailed videos. A compilation, for those who’d rather watch my analytical escapades like a literal MOVIE. Enjoy!

  • I didn't come up with this, but I think it's likely that the Beldam didn't fall down the well- she was drowned in it in the 17th century for being a "witch". Also, in the book, it describes her hair as "wet looking".

Fun fact in the beginning, when she is making the mini coraline doll, the tools in her "sewing kit" aren't sewing tools they're 1800th century embalming tools (for deceased people being prepared for their own funeral) she has a bone saw in her kit and in the embalming process your clothes are cut down your back, then your mouth is filled with cotton or saw dust (which has been used since the mummies of ancient Egypt) to soak up the fluids from seeping out of you once you've passed then she sews the mouth shut which when you die your eye and mouth muscles relax therfore they need to be sewn shut this is horrifying because this is foreshadowing that she's hoping for coralines death and is basically preparing coraline for her own funeral but yeah I did a little research for this and I thought it was a good point and kinda creepy
  • “The triangle rock” is called an adder stone. Rocks that had naturally formed holes in the middle were thought to contain magic in Celtic lore. Coraline’s adder stone is also made of a rock called malachite thats magical properties are protection, and symbolizing the afterlife and death. All of that makes sense to its role in the story.
  • this video theorizing a movie is 20 minutes longer than the actual movie 😂
  • do you really think im going to sit here and watch a two hour long video..... cause ur right
  • @hippothehippo
An important difference in the book and movie is that the movie takes place in the United States, while the book is in the United Kingdom. Native American folklore actually has a number of spider-woman fusion beings, so we can explain her origin in those stories, whereas in the British version, we can assume she’s a type of fairy. Fairies in old British culture were not happy tinkerbell types, they were often animalistic, aggressive, and cruel.
  • ok i know this video is like four years old but here’s my theory on her finger tapping: this might make no sense or be a stretch but whatev the beldam only reveals her true form to coraline when she becomes angry. now why would she reveal that she’s a monster to the child she’s trying to trap? she obviously knows that her true form would scare coraline since she puts on the facade of her own mother. a child is not going to want to stay with a literal monster. which is why i believe that her revealing herself was an accident. it is often extremely difficult to contain yourself or think clearly when you are angry. keeping some kind of facade is also very difficult when feeling such a strong emotion. now finger tapping (like the beldam does) is more often than not, a sign of frustration or anger but one that usually happens when someone is trying to keep themselves together. i think the beldam has a short temper and patience but knows if she becomes angry, she’ll just reveal herself which is why she has that habit of tapping her fingers as a strategy and reminder to keep herself calm
  • Creator of coraline watching coraline theories- damn why didn’t i think of this stuff
  • “Now here’s where it gets interesting” shows picture of giraffe on tight rope
  • @VTXTL
I think her proclivity for games is because puzzles and games enrich the soul, meaning if she can get her victims to solve puzzles and play games, their soul will be more enriched and valuable and hold more nutrition

For the questions were the parents really taken i have this to say: the mist is pretty much everywhere in the first half of the movie in the books its heavily implied that it is it's own entity. It slowly approaches towards the hous until it starts to rain and coraline can not go outside and if you look at the window its windy outdoors but the mist is still there like it wanted her to stay inside and find the door. When the cat guides coraline to the edge of the other world the book described the emptiness of the place as a sort of mist. When coraline and her mother go out to buy the uniformes the mist surrounds the shop and is also there when her mother goes out to buy groceries and doesn't come back. My opinion is that the mist took the parents . In the books coraline takes place in England and in English folklore mist is used by faries to trap you in there world. I think the mist works a bite like the coraline doll and it is used by the other mother to make her see what the other mother wants to see. At the end of the movie the mist is totaly gone.
  • I don’t want a Coraline 2. I want a beldam movie about her origins
  • @kamillyanna
idk about the book much, but in regards to the movie: I always thought that the reason Coraline and her family were allowed to move into the house is because she was almost 'destined' to. The beginning sequence has the Other Mother dismantling the doll made in the image of Mrs. Lovat's sister, turning her into Coraline. Later on, when Wybie gives this doll to Coraline, he says it's OLD - says that he found it in his grandma's chest, and its older/as old as she is... What if, after Mrs. Lovat's sister disappeared, Mrs. Lovat found the doll her sister had but it was different now: looking like a girl with blue hair, in a yellow rain coat. YEARS later, a family wants to move into the Pink Palace, and behold! A girl that looks exactly like the doll. Thus she makes an exception to her 'no kids' rule and allows Coraline's family to move in because she hopes it would help her either find or free her sister somehow... just a thought.
  • @elescreations
It's not soul sand... It's sawdust. If you look closely at the tools, it's surgical tools, EMBALMING tools, why she's making the dolls is preparing Coraline for her own funeral. She even has a BONESAW in her "sewing" kit.

  • @Emysh
The theorizer : “Coralina2 isn’t needed” Also The theorizer: Proceeds to make a 2 hour video that could be as long as a second movie about coralline
  • I always assumed it was as simple as her parents lied about having a kid to stay at the pink palace, cause before renting it was probably a policy or whatever from the grandma saying if you have kids forget about it. When I was younger my parents would sneak in in places all the time so I’m assuming it’s the same thing.
