The fact that there are still people out there joking about Mort's Crimes, and not actually realizing that it's TRUE in "All Hail King Julien", bothers me greatly, so share this video with any and everyone who will listen.

Fun fact: "Mort" is pronounced almost exactly like the German word "Mord", meaning "murder". At one point this is mentioned in the German version of the Penguins of Madagascar show, I think when the main characters think he was killed by the gorillas. They say something along the lines of "I hope his name didn't come true", I think.

the scariest part is that he barely theorizes. he almost only goes over what happens canonically

I love how they had like two jokes in the original Madagascar movie about Mort hugging Julian's legs and Julian being like "what did I tell you about the feet?!" and then the writers took that and were like "hey what if we gave Mort a foot fetish."

As someone who may or may not have imagined a series in his head where Mort is a suicidal serial killer with its own weird explanations every night for 5 years straight, and thought about making a fanfic out of it, and I still might, but it will be the only one I ever do, yeah the length checks out. Never watched All Hail King Julian but I forgot how utterly batshit insane it sounded until I saw one of the comments here.

This is the equivalent of reading a Lovecraftian novel, in which the protagonist slowly looses their grip on sanity as they delve deeper and deeper into the endless abyss of understanding an eldritch horror beyond full comprehension.
