One day when I was watching Spongebob, I noticed something bizarre. This thing was so bizarre that I decided to spend months analyzing every single episode of Spongebob Squarepants in search of answers.
What I ended up finding was a completely original and impossibly well-supported conspiracy theory that will destroy everything we have ever been told about Bikini Bottom.

The world needs to know the truth. This is the video that will change everything.

Watch at your own risk.

This dude made this overcomplicated video and then proceed to never been seen again, legend
  • Something to add to this video (if it matters), there's an episode of spongebob towards the later seasons that I remember made my head spin where, at the end of the episode Plankton gets the krabby patty secret formula and exclaims "I always win!" and spongebob corrects him "No plankton you always lose." Then Plankton reveals he's not Plankton, but Mr Krabs. And Plankton was Mr Krabs in a robotic suit, but it wasn't the robot krabs, it looked and sounded exactly like Mr Krabs. Then Squidward reveals he was like, Patrick or something and the rest of the episode everyone tearing off their skin and revealing that they're other characters, including Sandy and even a background character/minor character at one point. Strange part is, we never learn who or what is underneath all of the fake skins. The episode ends with them all tearing off skins over and over and just, zooms and fades out while it continues. That's what confused me as a kid. Who was truly under all of the skins? Was Spongebob even in the episode? And if that was possible, who's to say spongebob is really in any of the episodes? Who's to say any of these characters are actually people in Bikini Bottom? Who's to say anyone in Bikini Bottom is a person with a life and family? How does anybody in this world ever start a life knowing that anyone could be anyone else underneath infinite layers of skins and voices?
  • This is the perfect example of when you tell your dad a joke and he goes on a hour and 11 minute long lecture about it.

Man really just appeared one day. Said everyone in spongebob is a human in a suit and disappeared. Legend

This gotta be the highest amount of effort someone has ever made for a shitpost
  • Anyone remember when sandy took off her fur and hung it up and plankton stole it and used it as an actual skinsuit and it looked fucking terrifying? All so he could pretend to be her and steal the formula? Like they even had her hollow eyes and sagging empty mouth. Also “I’ve come for your pickle” is hilarious. I’m glad they added that.

“Spongebob squarepants skin theory” is not a combination of words I’d ever think I’d read in my lifetime.
  • @nerdiwolverine
Bro dropped the hardest spongebob analysis then dropped of the planet, what a legend
  • This is probably my favorite youtube video ever. I have no idea if it's actually smart in a serious way, or if it's a brilliant parody of pretentious windbag video essayists endlessly mining pseudo-meaning from media meant for children. This needs to be in the library of congress. It makes me want to write a work of secondary criticism about it.

“So let’s say, hypothetically, for the sake of the argument, the fish aren’t fish and wear fish skin.”
  • @Tisabelc
Mf just came into our lives and said "Yeah, skin theory" and then dipped

"I Had an Accident" came out in 2002. American dad came out in 2005...

  • @d-552
the fact that this man made an hour long video called “spongebob squarepants: skin theory”, then disappeared, scares me.
  • @juanitopng
It’s MY sleepover and I get to choose the movie
  • @Ry_guy7
I love how in real life, the salmon suit scene is basically somebody wearing either a muscle costume or a skeleton costume. The rest of the video is straight up terrifying tho

20:42 We pretty much see this exact same thing in a later season. Patrick goes to a clinic with a bunch of noses on the wall, picks one out and gets it surgically attached.
