The night of this performance I told my wife he’s telling us all goodbye. Your pain is over now, your music will echo eternally. Godspeed brother.
  • I have never cried for a grown man that was a complete stranger to me…until today.

How can that song not drop you to your knees. I don't care how tough a man you are, tears come rolling out. We love you Toby and we'll never forget you.
  • To perform this song so flawlessly is a miracle in itself. The Lord was right there with him no doubt. RIP to a REAL country artist!!!
  • @wegordons
He passed away today, what a great and wonderful human, what a loss for us. This song brings me to tears. May his family be comforted.

For me, this performance from Toby is as close to perfect as it gets. Even in his diminished state, his voice was powerful and filled with emotion. You could see it in his face...he knew his time left was short and he was grateful for the moment. It's everything I love about real country music. Cheers to Toby Keith.

How many are sitting here crying, knowing that this tough SOB gave it his all to give us one more show. He was just a few months older than me. This hits hard. We hoped he was okay but he knew otherwise.

Yall see him shaking? He fought hell itself to sing that song. And he nailed it.
  • @snookerl
One last time, cowboy. THANK YOU FOR EVERYTHING!!
  • Toby wrote “Don’t Let the Old Man In” in 2018 as a birthday present for Clint Eastwood, who was going to begin shooting his next movie, “The Mule” on his 88th birthday. Clint liked the song so much that he put it in the movie. Watching Toby perform the song in light of his ailment adds another meaning to it, and he sure didn’t let the old man in that night. May God bless him and his family.

At 78, I’ve been battling cancer for 9+ years and this song has special meaning to me. At times it’s very hard, but I tell my friends “I’m not old, just well into my wisdom years”!
  • He was able to say goodbye. It was on his terms. He wasn’t ready but he had to. Heartbreaking
  • My dad died when he was 74. He loved country. I know he would have loved this song. My dad was young at heart his whole life. I miss you daddy.😢
