A spokesman for the United States Secret Service told CNN the agency did not sweep the building where Thomas Matthew Crooks shot at former President Donald Trump but instead leaned on local law enforcement to conduct security at that location. The spokesman added that there was supposed to be local law enforcement posted in that area, but it is not clear where that post was supposed to be located. CNN's Whitney Wild reports. #CNN #News

    So, to not positively secure a rooftop within 300 yards of the stage is completely AMATEUR. This rooftop was 160 yards from the stage. The Secret Service are not amateurs. Something is rotten in Denmark.

    The statement that "this building was outside the perimeter" is moronic. The MINIMUM perimeter for VIP protection is line-of-sight, 300 yards.

    Quick summary: Secret service said that the local law enforcement was responsible for that area. The local law enforcement said that they were not responsible for that area. Therefore, nobody is responsible.

    4 years ago, I was robbed at gun point and was shot at my car. I was begging, begging, and begging police to come and get the bullet that was stuck in my car. The police finally came, and they came 3 weeks later.

    Somehow this kid knew to come around this specific building and climb a ladder that just happened to be there? And all this With courses of people watching?? This is absurd.
