Thanks so much for this- I got the Yamaha UD-BT01, a compact Ravpower portable charger, a 6-in. Belkin cable, and Thumbjam on my iPhone 7+ connects with it to give a totally untethered setup, I can play anywhere with the phone in my shirt pocket, even velcro it all to the ewi for a completely self-contained functioning acoustic wind synth instrument. Just what I was hoping for. Thanks again.

Excellent demonstration. A very creative and cost effective solution for a common issue. Thank you very much for taking time to sharing this with everyone.

This is fantastic. I assumed that I couldn't use the Yamaha with my Windows machine. I just got it for use with my Aerophone and Reason in Windows. It worked immediately. It's so easy. Thank you!!! I'm finally free of cords.

I wanted to buy an EWI but I was really frustrated that the wireless is really expensive and I really need it to play on gigs. You gave me a reason to be happy. Thank you very much.

Thanks! I got this working with a Windows 10 laptop using the CME WIDI Bud. After using it for a while, I ended up using a smaller (and lighter) phone charger. Fortunately, you can swap out the power supply without having to re-pair to the bud.

Thx for posting this. I've been thinking about an EWI for a while, your demo of interfacing with the iPad pushed me to pull the trigger. I successfully played with GarageBand for a couple hours, loving it. One detail to emphasize: when you turn on BT in iPad settings, don't sit there waiting for it to find and connect with the Yamaha BT module. It won't show up until you go into your MIDI app and connect there.

You sir, are a genius! I have been trying to figure this out for years. Thanks for sharing!

Had to download another program to invoke Bluetooth into seeing the UD-BT01 otherwise my iPad didn't list it, which is something you forgot to mention or maybe didn't need due to your iPad version! Thanks for the information that you provided it got me 95% of the way.

Thank you for this. It was very useful and even though I'm English rather than American I had absolutely no issue understanding you.

How am I just seeing this after years of owning this! Thank you!

It works! Thank you for this video! Ordered the UD-BT01 from Amazon and used a generic USB phone charger. Working great with surprisingly low latency on IPhone 6S.

This is amazing! So many possibilities with this for someone with limited income!

Just what I needed to know !! Looking to save up for an EWI USB - looks like I'll need to save a little more for these extras, too! Thanks for including PC - so many things these days are geared towards iPads, especially music !!!

Very good and useful tutorial... Also been trying to figure this out. Got the EWI5000 thinking that it could transmit midi wirelessly... now here it is. Thanks for sharing!

Phil you're a genius! I bought the EWI Solo recently and have not been thrilled with the internal sounds and being able to play soft synths wirelessly is the way to go. I haven't found another solution.

Amazing video, i'd never thought to see something like that ...WOW you are a genius!

Thx - just tried this with my Ewi-USB - works a treat. I’ve also now implemented it with a Warbl - awesome. Running it with Celtic Sounds on ios and Native Instruments Suites on Windows 10.

MANY THANKS PhilGeissler I'm from Spain and I've been looking for this for my EWI USB for a long time. I also have an EWI 5000 and it also works You only need a basic USB midi adapter and use MIDI OUT. They sell it in AMAZON from € 4 Forgive my English

Super useful. I didn't know how to move forward from my EWI USB => Win 7 => Akai App => Scarlett Solo (only way I could get the latency down) and wish to explore the Apple world.
