This tutorial takes a preliminary look at the AKAI EWI5000 Electronic Wind Instrument. The many features of the construction of the EWI are discussed with comparisons made to the clarinet and saxophone.

Wireless and MIDI connectivity are highlighted with the very extended range of the EWI demonstrated.

Two sample tracks featuring the EWI moonlighting as an authentic Hammond B3 organ are included.
