The way that Bowie steps back several steps after his verses, puts his hands behind his back and lowers his head when Gilmour steps forward is pure class. Two British legends, two amazing voices.

I never knew that I needed to hear David Bowie sing Comfortably Numb. Until now.

...and suddenly, for 8 minutes, everything in the world was perfect.

Personnally, I think Bowie adds a completely new dimension to this song and it is a strike of genius that he doesn't try to replicate Waters' vocals but adds his own completely unique twist.

As both a bowie and a Pink Floyd fan this is basically a dream come true. This was a great discovery.

I was there in the 5th row. I cried then, I cried just now when I played it. The whole evening was very special. You knew that you were seeing stellar musicians at the peak of their powers. I think that this version of Comfortably Numb is the finest version of any rock song ever played. It is that good. I doubt that it will ever be surpassed.

If Floyd and Bowie aren’t in my grandchildren’s textbooks next to Beethoven and Mozart, I hope I’m still around to teach them.
  • @yeah.cheers
I'm only in the first verse but Bowie's take on the vocal melody is brilliant - it sounds unmistakingly Bowie.

I’m a 53 year old artist and can’t believe nor understand why David has gone from this planet…. I truly miss him. Peace.

The guy at 6:43 deserves an award for how deeply he's feeling Gilmour's solo.
  • As a Floyd fan this is one of the greatest pieces of music of all time. But Bowie takes it to another level. For me the definite version of a masterpiece. RIP David - still missed.

The hardest part of getting old is losing those you have loved for many, many years. People I’ve known personally and those who have touched my soul through their art. I miss you Richard. I miss you Mr. Bowie. God bless!
  • David Bowies version of this song is stellar. He steps back to let David Gilmour do his thing...he was the epitome of class and elegance and I miss his genius.

Only Bowie could take such an iconic song and give it his own unique vocal interpretation. Briliant!

God Bless David Bowie, Rick Wright, David Gilmour, Nick Mason and Roger Waters. These men have written, recorded and performed some of the finest music ever to grace this civilization. I love you all and could never repay you the joy and comfort you have given to me for the last 47 years.

"I can't explain, you would not understand." "The child is grown, the dream is gone." Describes the pain of the human condition so perfectly.
  • The best vocals and the best guitar solo I've ever heard. David Bowie and David Gilmour are two geniuses
