I'm 71 next week, and like many other people I find Pink Floyds music brings out the emotional side of me. I have a fantastic family, 4 sons, two beautiful grandchildren (and another on the way!)and a loving wife, but Floyd bring back so many memories of my life, from when I was a teenager through to now. The memories of the sixties and seventies are so vivid at times, and watching this performance with dear Rick Wright and David working so well together, bring those memories flooding back. I find it hard to put my feelings into words, but I watched those last few minutes with tears rolling down my cheeks. Life past can make you so happy, but at the same time so sad. Sorry for being a big softy!!
  • Rick Wright was to Pink Floyd what George Harrison was to the Beatles, The obscure and quiet important member but so much underrated.

A very sad ending, two old friends saying goodbye to each other, expressing their love with their music. RIP Richard Wright, you were the soul of Pink Floyd.

David has refused to perform Echoes without Rick as he stated it wouldn't feel right without him. I couldn't agree more. Echoes is without a doubt Rick's ultimate masterpiece.
  • That opening B "ping" is one of the most iconic sounds in all of music. We miss you, Rick!

When the audience knows a song after 1 NOTE.....you know it's a masterpiece.

There's a special place in HELL for the person who thought it a good idea to place an advert in the middle of this masterpiece!!!

I’m pretty sure at this point that many people knew Rick was fighting a terminal cancer that would take his life. I am so glad they did this song together one last time. Probably Rick’s greatest performance!! He tackled it with all his passion, and have others said, there was such a great interaction between Rick and Dave! They knocked it out BIG TIME! The ending literally brought tears to my eyes!

Roger was the brain of the band David was the skill of the band Rick was the atmosphere of the band Nick was the pulse of the band
  • I'm 72, but I'll never be too old for Pink Floyd's music. They will always be my favorite band!!!

To me, this is the best performance of 'Echoes' ever. There are no words to describe this beautiful performance...RIP, Mr. Wright.

David and Richard singing together is one of life's true joys

Gilmour said: "It would be lovely to play Echoes here, but I wouldn't do that without Rick. There's something that's specifically so individual about the way that Rick and I play in that, that you can't get someone to learn it and do it just like that. That's not what music's about." Seems fair

It is not possible to explain what it meant to hear this way back in the seventies, growing up. This was the Quantum Physics of music
  • @Realbillball
Some people claims "Echoes" is Floyds best work. And I can absolutely see where they're coming from. It is a true timeless masterpiece. And WHAT an incredible performance this was. RIP Rick. You were the salt of the band.

I love how in the crowd no one jumps or move around, they just stand there admiring the art and it’s creators.
  • @jefft2006
I don't blame David no wanting to play Echoes without his mate Richard... the two were incredibly in sync mentally, musically, emotionally and I can see it would not be the same. There are always some songs that once a band member leaves this planet the others say "that song is retired until we meet again" - this is one of them.

The only band to ever reach musical perfection. I can’t imagine my life without Pink Floyd.
