  • I know I am posting too much haha but I want to say one thing to everyone watching this: Every one of us deserves the chance to be the person we want to be and can be... If we all make an effort to support others in a way that helps them be or "become" themselves they will open up and flourish! I used to make an effort to specifically do this with younger people that just needed that little bit of support and affirmation that is was OK to be themselves and be proud to be the unique individuals they are!
  • I think he just wanted to feel like he belonged. He was tired of being an outcast and unable to connect with those around him.

So glad you finally got to see it 😁 it was a lot better than I thought it would be myself.

I enjoy your rambling! Your raw honesty about your struggles helps so much. A lot of the things you struggle with are things I see in myself. Edit: Normal definitely is boring!
  • Hi Kelly! Glad to see you out and about again. And so cool to get your take on the movie. For me, Joker is a simple gothic tone poem; but one crafted with deep conviction. It is the barest of psychological dramas. And though it lacks the complexities of other denser works (i.e. ‘Parasite’), it still manages to strike a very primal chord. The painful saga of solitude on display is universal. Most people might react similarly to the sight of a newborn puppy getting kicked in the street; the movie is not subtle. But not every work of art needs to be. Aretha Franklin’s voice wasn’t subtle either, yet ‘Respect’ is no less sublime because of it... The sound of crashing cymbals can hit the sweet spot just as much as a feather brushing against one’s cheek. During my first (and only) viewing of the film, I simply let it wash over me, not feeling the urge to critique it so much. And I was content to just lose myself in the gritty spectacle of it all. Only afterwards did I notice how its plot totally stacks the deck, setting up the audience to empathize so completely with Arthur (until we don’t). However, one thing is sure: Joaquin’s ‘performance cannot be denied. It’s a riveting performance which hooked me from beginning to end. So while the film’s detractors seem determined to point out its flaws, I am less inclined to do so. It is what it is. ‘Parasite’ is my fave film of the year and I suppose achieves everything ‘Joker’ does not. But I still found ‘Joker’ plenty absorbing and affecting. In the end, the film is like staring at a small, injured insect struggling to crawl its way out of a broken whiskey bottle. And that is fine by me.
  • I love the style of how it was filmed. Like it really feels like it was filmed in the time frame it was set in. Joaquin's performance... omg. That man can ACT and really can sink into a role. Some of the story reminds me of Joker's origin in The Killing Joke, but only just a few small bits. The movie is its own thing and tells a great origin story for the Clown Prince of Crime. I really hope it doesn't have a sequel because it's so great as a stand alone film. But, given the success it received and especially if it wins any Oscars (very likely) then I guess a sequel will be inevitable. Glad you saw it and liked it!
  • Your rambling is some of the best rambling in existence! Thanks for your personal insight and depth of thought! I need to obtain an intelligent good friend in my life so I can actually have conversations again with some depth and meaning!!

Human kindness costs nothing, but it touches so many people in so many ways.

I heard all the hype about how great it was, so I definitely wanted to see it. I finally saw it, I liked it, but it took awhile to process it. I want to watch it again, but not for a some time. Phoenix deserves best actor hands down. In whatever he does next, he has the benefit of doubt with me. Nice to see you. Welcome back to the interwebs 🐰. ❤

I loved Joker because it made me uncomfortable in the best way. I just get sucked in.

Hey! Great to see you back on. You're right, btw. Only the surface of Joker has been scratched in most reviews & discussions that I've happened across, & I do like your take. Stay frosty in the sunshine & come back soon!

Thanks for the wonderful insightful video Jedi Bunny, I am definitely looking forward to seeing all three films when I finally get some time. I’ve been trying to catch up as much as possible, but work has been pretty chaotic recently ( 7 Days a week 10 hour days ) I hope that I might be able to catch the live stream depending on when I finally earn my day off😎👍👍 Again thanks for the wonderful content, and you have a great week too😎👍👍
