On the Israeli-Lebanese border, missile strikes in both directions have been ongoing since October. The destruction, insecurity and fear of an all-out war have pushed many to leave their homes on both sides of the border. Hezbollah leaders say they are ready for a full-scale war. What's Hezbollah trying to achieve with its continuous attacks on Israel? And is there any reason to believe Israel will invade Lebanon?

If my country chooses to attack another country with no plans to protect us from retaliation, I would blame my government and not the ones retaliating.

"Mohamad," So Israel is randomly just attacking Lebanon for no apparent reason? After October 7th, Lebanon unilaterally began attacking Israel. Awful bias by DW.

Finger pointing and high voice really helps
  • Hmm, I'm not a friend of escalation and I also understand that Hisbollah has its "responsibilities" towards its allies even if it does not actually want escalation, but technically a war in response to a neighbour just firing rockets at you can hardly qualify as a "preventive".

At least state facts: Lebanon started attacking Israel on October 8th.

Such news is one sided, with the purpose to rally people's empathy and to put blame on the wrong side of the conflict. This is simply manipulating viewer's understanding of the story.

Thousand of Israeli in the North border haven’t see their house since October 8, so it is fair.

Lebanon should either eliminate the threat there domestic terrorists pose or be prepared to accept communal responsibility for the retaliation that will rain down on there entire nation. If Lebanon cant garuntee there own people to not be a threat then they aren't sovereign and thus Israel would be right to annex and control the region as a whole until they can be crafted into a nation capable of self control. A non state attack originating from within Lebanon is still the responsibility of Lebanon as a whole and the consequences are on the hands of the nation as a whole. If Lebanese want to be treated differently to Gazans then they should establish control over there lands and control the threat originating from there.

How is it renewed? Its been consistently the same story. Theres just been important things happening in the United states and now you're shifting focus back to this garbage.
