To the Moon - From Dream To Reality | Space Documentary

Between 1969 and 1972 twelve men walked on the surface of the moon. It was seen as the first chapter in an ambitious program of space exploration. But what started with NASA's Apollo missions ended with the Apollo missions. Humanity's boldest venture is now 50 years in the past. To The Moon - From Dream To Reality looks back at the people and the technology of the Apollo era.

I was 11 when the moon landing happened and my family and I were planted in front of the TV. I'm 64yrs old now, and I watch all the NASA missions and the new Space X missions. I'm s glad we're headed back to the moon. Great post.

34:00 “ Neil Armstrong would be the first civilian sent into space” True Armstrong was a civilian at the time but he was a former US Naval Aviator who flew 70+ combat missions off a US aircraft carrier in the Korean War.

From Barcelona, Spain, how easy is for all us to tell "man on the Moon", when it's just a few heroes, true supermen, who steped out there. Proudly, hurray for all at glorious Apollo Project!!!

  • Watching the archival footage brought me back to the days when this was all happening, and the feelings of awe and excitement watching the launches used to bring. I’m 66 and still hope that one day I will be able to see a launch with my own eyes.
  • Great documentary! Thanks Free Doc. I know it's been said before but YouTube is the closest thing we have to a time machine.

Whenever the doc talks about the Russians we get a Russian choir singing ominously. Whenever we're in the American labs or whatever we get Infomercial music.
