I don't think people realize how special of a moment this was. Animals are very protective of their babies and for the mother elephant to trust humans to save her baby was incredible.

I love how the crowd said to the baby elephant “Go on, baby! Go to your mom!” They were calling him “loog” which basically means child or kid. They were talking to him as if he was their child. It’s a form of kindness and love for Thai people.

She wasn’t leaving without her baby . Thank you to all the persons that helped this baby and mama to reunite
  • @harbours.
It's amazing that she trusted people to help her baby.
  • It’s amazing. Elephants will do anything to protect their babies. With all of those people and the equipment, she should have seen them as a threat and tried to run them off. Instead, she knows they are trying to help her baby, so she stands back and lets them. This shows a level of intelligence at the very least on par with human intelligence. They are self aware. They can predict outcomes. They understand human ingenuity and ability to problem solve. Elephants are so…so insanely intelligent.
  • imagine the conversation they had on the walk home after that stunt lol

Little elephant to the excavater in the end: "Thanks a lot stange metal elephant" monks, construction workers, military and civilians, truly a team efffort.
  • It’s kinda sad yet adorable how baby was scared of the machine, so rare for an elephant to see something bigger that doesn’t look like its mother, so brave how he tried to charge it, strong little kid. Glad the bubba was saved ❤
  • Пусть все детки на Земле будут живы и здоровы, рядом с мамами.
  • Am fascinated by how calm mother elephant was while waiting for people to rescue her baby. It was like for this one time she had faith in humans

I love elephants. So happy this mama got her baby back
  • This is why every single human has value. Yes, even you. We can so so much good.
  • What a smart excavator operator. He even uses the scoop to block the elephant from potentially charging back down the slope once it’s out.
  • Elephants are really intelligent, the mother knew she couldn't get him out by herself so she searched for people.
  • Elephants will never forget, they’ll be forever grateful.. It's amazing that she trusted people to help her baby..
