  • We want the aduit. And voted in chief. But good work on getting this topic moving forward.
  • I certainly hope the children from reserves in Canada will stop to have to go to another town (and have to stay there during the week) in order to go to school.
  • the local truck and atv dealerships near rezerves must be happy at this news

The conference is a big process. This is a great to hear but sad to hear at the same time. Do First Nations have big brothers and big sisters groups who have stories to tell?

The AFN has let cda off the hook regarding meeting its fiscal obligation under the CHRT decision (which found that the FDA was and is discriminatory in funding CFS for FNs). Cda's initial offer was an insult, and while this may be the "biggest settlement," it's far less than what cda owes.

The NC is aware that 47 billion over 10 years is insufficient to meet the needs of FN children and families. Experts in the field, including the amazing Cindy Blackstock (who was pushed out of these negotiations by cda and the AFN), have clearly demonstrated that this number will not allow FNs to do the work to uplift their communities. The NC is acting as a rights holder and has crossed a very important line in accepting this agreement (in principle?).

How bout you folks look after your own community. The rest of us have been doing that successfully for a hundreds of years. No more handouts for deadbeatsz
  • I don't know why we keep giving them breaks when they just abuse it. I know several native people that turned their backs on their native rights and would rather be an equal and are doing great without the handouts. Their is no proof that they owned this land and we took it away from them maybe they stole it from us before we took it back ?
