My Last Intellivision Amico Video?
Will this be my final video on Tommy Tallarico's failed video game console? I honestly don't know. I just don't care about the system anymore. I was really excited about the original idea, but things went south in a big way, and today the company is just a shadow of their original vision.

You know you’re old when you still refer to a TV as a television set 😢
  • @ratedrguy
When they decided to sell their 'physical products' without a console release, you knew that the writing was on the wall. That was a desperation move for more funding. There should be legal consequence to that.

The amico is the modern day version of the keyboard component and the Aquarius….

Why did it launch, my feet need a good soak...PS move the prompter/cue cards 1 foot left

They are doing Amico Home just to avoid lawsuits. Make no mistake.

I was one of the people who interviewed Tommy (via Skype call). Maybe somebody in that organization had a plan, but IMO he didn't: I think he was a true believer in his own hype, and he thought he could follow the code of "fake it until you make it" —with or without the odious spirituality of "The Secret".

I'm 77 years old my 4 grandkids wanted the Amico so I deposited money for 4 different units. Well I finally seen my grandkids and asked how it was, then I found out the story behind this disaster. I can't even get my money back I can't find a place to complain

bigtime credit to you for making this video. i was briefly interested in the new intellivision before i heard the name and that it would not be featuring retro graphics.

What a scam. Makes Polymega’s drama seem tame. At least they produced a console - just took 4yrs to finally fulfill orders. Can somebody revamp Colecovision?

Quite a pity that the console was not released. I was excited (to some degree) from watching some of your earlier coverage of the system. Thanks for the update anyway...

Earth Worm Jim was the carrot and Tommy was the stick!!! 😭

I feel similarly all around, from beg to now, as you. If it somehow comes out, along with some of the announced 2nd gen/8-bit computer reimagined games I was interested in, I'd buy it.

As a dad with little kids, I was totally on board. It was a great idea and I was pretty disappointed when they canceled it. On the flip side, I love my VCS, which I was 100% sure would never see the light of day and now I have two! Crazy how it all turned out in the end.
  • Couldn't care less about the Amico at this point, and Tommy's probably going to prison in the end, but the one thing that really pisses me off about the whole ordeal is the limbo that Earthworm Jim 4 now finds itself in. I was genuinely looking forward to a new Earthworm Jim game hearkening back to the franchise's actual 2D roots with so many of the original devs attached to the project. I can only hope that somehow the game finds a new publisher, though if what I've heard is true, the game never actually saw any substantial development to begin with (comparable to much of what was promised regarding all things Amico), so there's probably no real loss there when all is said and done.
  • I also had one pre-ordered YEARS ago and have canceled it. I couldn’t care less about “Amico Home”, I wanted an actual console that hooks up to our TV. Mobile games are already oversaturated, so I certainly have no interest in them. The new Atari products are AWESOME (I own both the 2600+ and the Game Station Pro) and it’s a shame that Intellivision didn’t follow this path.

The Intellivision name is worthless at this point. If a physical Amico console ever does see the light of day I don't see it being a big seller.
  • @BaneMcDeath
I only want the controller if it can be bluetoothed with other hardware. Or, maybe some company will make a modern intellivision controller.
  • @samfrito
I'm just a kid of the 70s who loved gaming and no bs. The Amico would have done fine if they could have put together something within the year (2019) and made 10 games. It could have died by now, but we'll never know. It's a shame the Intellivision is just going to have to bear this weight of Amicos failure as a brand. Let's hope someone can actually do something other than phone games in the future.
