CATHERINE and Gabriella describe themselves as the ‘ultimate mother-daughter duo.’ Together the pair travel, shop, model and dress in matching outfits - all the time. Catherine has two other daughters - Lauren and Sophia who the pair refer to as ‘the sisters’. They think their mom and sister’s relationship is ‘weird’. Lauren said: “Everything they do together is a little extra.” Sophia added: “Everything they do is very cringe.” Catherine and Gabriella started creating videos on social media together. Gabriella said: “People love it but they also love to hate it.” Comments have ranged from positive to judgemental and have accused Catherine of having plastic surgery to look like her daughter and living life through her. Gabriella said: “If someone says online that our relationship is unhealthy like who are you? Why would we care?” While Lauren and Sophia said they agree with some of the comments about their mom and sister being over the top, they vehemently disagree with the idea that they’re neglected as daughters. Sophia said: “We definitely get a lot of attention.” Lauren added: “We don’t need any more attention, we’re good.”

Notice her face when the camera guy asked "Do you want to be away from your mother?" The woman is being smoothered and mother living through her. Her face was so uncomfortable 😐

But on the show Smothered, Gabreilla wanted to move out and live in an apartment with one of her sisters; the mother freaked out. She also wanted to quit competing in beauty pageants and the mother completely lost it. Needless to say, she's still living at home and still competing in beauty pageants.

The sisters said why they call their mom “cath” in the “smothered” episode. They say it’s because the mom likes it. She considers herself one of the sisters… bizarre.

This is not a daughter-mother relationship. This is more like a friend-clone relationship and is the total opposite of raising children as free independent individuals... Absolutely unhealthy and unbalanced

This girl is so smothered and embarrassed but doesn’t want to hurt her caring, obviously lonely, and overly attached mother because she cares so much about her. It seems to me she is ready to move on from this lifestyle.

You can tell she doesn’t like matching anymore. I can see it. She wants to date and I feel like her mom is overhearing with it

The hesitation when the camera man asked “Do you want to be away from your mother?” Also, I feel horrible for Lauren and Sophia. They have to wake up to this (unless they don’t live in the same house) everyday. Plus, Gabriella and her mom claim that “they aren’t being left out” yet Lauren and Sophia call their mom by her first name. That’s rough, and they have the right idea to think it’s strange.
