Ubisoft is never going to stop trying to sell overpriced shiny Isu weapons and outfits in the store. They make too much money doing so 🤣
  • @IforIMPERIAL490
Let's be honest the new ac fans haven't played the old games, they read the story from lore and they don't understand how the franchise has ruined itself in greed for money
  • @masterassassin791
I've been a big fan of yours for a long time and I totally understand your take. I appreciate you still sharing your opinion even though you've moved on from the franchise. Hope you're doing well!
  • @hog1198
I never thought about it—but you’re right. We’re praising this game and hyping it SOOO much just because it’s (allegedly) giving us the bare minimum that an Assassin’s Creed game should offer
  • @hawken796
They did mention that if Mirage is successful, then they'll make more traditional games. This is them testing to see if og AC fans are big or just loud, considering Valhalla sold 20 mil + copies.
  • It won't be perfect, this is ubisoft after all, but an actual assassin's creed game about assassin's is still a vast improvement. I don't think anyone is expecting it to be as good as the originals, but it's a step up and the actually good games aren't as accessible anymore anyway

I still don't get any unity or older ac vibes from it. But sure it does feel like a great step up from Origins and Valhalla What I would love to see is a city with streets full of bustling crowds with an assassin hiding, slowly advancing toward its target, along with some theft activities and yes Pursuits..

The game looks good and I'm happy to be able to explore 9th century Baghdad since it no longer exists.
  • “Assassins Creed has become a spin-off to Assassins Creed” Damn, that line hurt me in ways i cant even describe. :/

As someone who is excited for this game and thinks it at least looks fun, I still have many reservations, mainly the story. I don’t have much hope that the writing will succeed in telling a story that focuses on the fundamentals of why we all fell in love with the series. But after seeing this trailer I think that the game will at least be enjoyable to play when it comes to the city and stealth. As excited as I am in my recent videos on mirage I try to make sure that people don’t mistake my excitement as complete faith in the game. Very cautious optimism, but by god I will let myself enjoy the ride! Great video

2:40 This is the crucial factor right here. Sure they can have hidden blades and parkour and a guy in a hood stabbing people, but that doesn’t mean they’ve truly went back to their roots. We’ll have to actually see how these things are implemented and how we interface with them as mechanics. Like you said, the past three games which are essentially not even Assassins Creed games still had all of these things, yet they didn’t feel like Assassins Creed, so I’m gonna wait for the reviews on this one to make sure they’re ACTUALLY going back to their roots and that it actually PLAYS like that, and not just giving us the aesthetics of that with no substance.

I really want to see a return to the combat style from the very early games where you would press a button to throw or disarm or kill right when the attack is about to connect that was really dope
  • @mellangard
Assassin's Creed Mirage's new trailer was certainly a trailer.
  • @jaedenbennett6931
6 years ago this would have been the highlight of the showcase for me. 3 years ago I would have at least been angry that they think they can buy me back with temporary surface level changes, but now I feel nothing
  • Looks like it’s just a mirage. I’d like them to have a assassin’s creed game set in the modern day like they teased in Revelations. I want to get back to Assassins vs Templars, Apple of Eden’s.

There's something that really bothers me about the RPG titles that I don't really see a lot of people talk about. It's the fact that they're labeled as such, offering rather limiting or underwhelming methods of play. An RPG implies that no two players will have the same experience playing through the games. But yet when you watch people play it looks no different than how of vast majority of the fanbase would play the game. Even if you want to do a whole melee focused build early on, you're still going to find yourself looping back around and playing stealthily just to change up the flow of mediocre gameplay. This is why I don't understand why they moved away from stylistic and highly varied animations and moves. Ironic that the better "rpg" esque game was unity.

This is just same old Ubisoft. The only reason they are trying to make this game feel like the old ones is money. They just saw a huge opportunity to make way more money when they were making this DLC for Valhalla; make it into a stand-alone game that goes back to the old roots. Of course that makes people hyped. Ubisoft has no intention to make a smaller game that goes back to the old roots. This is just a quick final cash grab by pulling the heartstrings of the OG Assassin's Creed fans before they finally notice that the brand they loved is completely gone. I'm sure they tried to do something good with this game but this will be nothing more than just a streched out city like Winchester with some copy paste aspects from Origins and some boring poles to cross the wider streets. And I don't blame them, they didn't have much time for this one. But jesus christ the fans shouldn't be excited about this.
  • @endertuber8300
Assassin's Creed is such in a weird state... the brand identity is gone, people complain about it and others shut them down because "AC games are more than Assassins duh" when no one would ever say the same thing, or defend the software house, if tomorrow Fromsoftware was to unironically release an isometric visual, turn base puzzle solving game with rainbow candies and call it "Dark Souls 4"... yet for some reason people are happy to gaslight themself to believe this is a different game an as such it can do whatever it does... I'm still going to pirate the hell out of Mirage, shot myself some cheap Assassin dopamine without giving Ubisoft a dime
  • @GoTree64
My only main thing is I like the "red smoke bombs" because they're clearly spice which works for the Baghdad setting. As someone who was drawn to ac through the tie ins with history, (as far fetched as many parts may be) I just find these sorts of things neat.
