These were no ordinary bombs. The FAB-500M-62s, often likened to the renowned American JDAM, had been transformed. Fitted with the UMPK - the Unified Gliding and Correction Module - they were now instruments of unparalleled accuracy and destruction. Equipped with range-extending kits and GPS guidance, they had become the unseen, almost ghostly predators.
Since their debut on the battlefield, these glide bombs had haunted Ukrainian positions, eerily defying interception.
Su-34 aircraft launch the UMPK bombs from distances that keep them safe from Ukrainian batteries. Evading the first barrages, the Russian Pilots swiftly penetrate enemy territory, and rapidly launch their payload before turning tail and disappearing into the horizon.
Moments later, the bombs reach their targets while avoiding enemy fire. They glide down, and hell breaks loose over the Ukrainian perimeter.

It's pretty impressive what the Russians can do with weapons that cost a fraction of NATO's equivalents.

Ursula said these are washing machine parts.
-
He forgot to mention the FAB 3000, fabricated from recycled shovels and old fridge parts.
-
America: j dam costing millions. Russia: 500kg bomb with wings using ring door bell camera.
-
These are blowing the crap out of Ukrainians at the moment and Russia is just ramping this weapon up to the max.
-
I remember the first time these bombs were shown, many laughed at the fact they were so DIY and hand-made and crafted. But they are showing they are very effective. And by the way, Glonass might be less accurate than GPS but I'm sure Glonass works super fine where it's needed, Ukraine

FAB-500? Mappers and independent journalists reported Russian military are already using heavier variants such as FAB-1000/FAB-1500.
-
Russian glide shovels?
-
1:36 - to call Ukraine a 'cold war ally' seems a bit much. It was not a separate country during the cold war.
-
Those bombs opening their wings for the first time is kind of cute ...

@1:29 "Russia believed the war in Ukraine would be a walk in the park". According to Ukraine's chief negotiator in the Istanbul format peace talks, Russia's main aim was to force a negotiated settlement. Boris Johnson on April 9th, 2022, at the behest of the United States, arrived in Kiev and ordered Zelensky to walk away from the negotiated deal or be cut off from western support.

In a war of attrition cheap quantity over expensive quality always wins. Impressed how fast Russia developed and fielded this.
-
A bit behind they have been using FAB 1500 for a while now & the FAB 3000 is about to be used. And talk about quantity over quality of Russia how about those USA made cluster rounds?
-
There are FAB1500 and FAB3000 too. The FAB3000 has a blast radius of 900 metres.
-
The Russian Military never thought this would be a "walk in the park". This is a complete mis-read of Russia, Russian leadership and Russian Goals.
-
Waiit Didn't they tell us that Russia will be without ammo fuel and rockets in 3 weeks in April 2022 ???! Then using washing machines chips ? 😂
-
Unfortunately in war, who survives is the only thing that matters.
-
I need at least one video a week that CHANGES EVERYTHING.

What's mysterious about a glide bomb that's already used by other countries?

i feel the biggest impact on that war in ukrane is the use of drones ..so many folks being run down by those guided flying machines ...modern armys better figure out how to jam those signals while maintaing their own ...in a battlefield ..digging trenches are not so effective for that ...
