Office Trap (26th Original Trap)

Season 7 (Episode 4 of 10)

THE STORY

Levi returns to Alexander to ask for help as he's finding it more difficult to hide from the police. Alexander is torn between helping his brother or helping the killer of his Dad.
With the discovery of The Angels website, Williams and Poston watch the latest trap video together, keeping this information to themselves. After the shock of what they have seen they get called to a crime scene where a mysterious trap has taken place in an occupied office building.
Borsella finds a piece of evidence connecting Nathan to the crime scene and Nathan is taken into questioning.

TRAP VICTIM

Fred Becket is a regular office guy who arrives to work with a smile every single morning and blends in with the rest as a responsible employee and sane person.
His co-workers see Fred as an outstanding human being and hard working man for his age.
If his boss and co-workers had only one word to describe Fred, it would be almost impossible as his persona to them holds an endless list of positive titles. But The Angels can describe Fred with only one word...and that word is 'thief'.
As a computer expert, Fred knows the tricks to navigate and understand a computer, so much that he started exploring the world of identity theft a few years back.
By discovering how easy it was for him to earn money through the dark web using stolen credit card information, stolen social security numbers and the ability to see into people's investments and savings through hacked bank accounts Fred has made a very sustainable income in secret.
The Angel's came across Fred's crimes and followed his tracks until discovering almost half of his criminal activities were happening from Fred's own work computer.
Fred must now face the consequences of his actions as The Angels have captured him to put his honesty to the test.

TRAP DESCRIPTION

Fred has a device strapped to his upper body holding a mechanism which will power up a large drill if he fails his test.
The goal of the game is for Fred to confess his crimes by typing a detailed email provided by his kidnappers.
There's 7 computers in this office room and all of them have been hacked. specially Fred's which will be the one where the email will be typed and sent to the other 6.
Once each of the other computers receive the email, a number will appear on their screen and Fred must figure out a 4 digit combination. Fred as been given the clue necessary to pass his test and find out which four numbers are the correct ones to unlock the drill device.
Fred's game is being closely monitored so he doesn't try to cheat or escape. if he were to try. The game would end in death.

The correct number combination being hidden inside the email paragraph is honestly very clever. I would've never expected that.

I like how this trap went, it wasn't intense or painful but rather more laid back. Just watching Fred reading the confession made me forget that he only had like a minute left and it felt like time slowed down while he was reading the confession. I'm also quite thrilled to see where the story is now going, at this point things look like they're gonna get messy! Well done on this one šŸ‘

This feels like a trap designed by Hoffman. Something that would be so complicated, but would absolutely be at the hardest level of difficulty. I've read that sentence so many times that I couldn't even figure out what the heck Fred's 4-digit combination was. That combination could have been anything because there looked to be like, 5 different words that sound like a number, but hard to configure out which one it was.

Thank you for letting me voice Officer Blake Posten in these episodes. I remember my first saw experience. 11 year old me watching The Puppet Trap and Ive been a Saw fan ever since. šŸ˜Š

For a second I thought the horse head was talking xD
  • I really like this trap. I like how it isnā€™t the basic ā€œyou need to amputate a part of your body in order to liveā€ and more strategic. Also Iā€™m very hyped for the electric room! Considering itā€™s that trap you teased several years back!

I keep forgetting that Officer Austin Williamsā€™ beard is his beard and not his mouth.

Hereā€™s a new trap idea for ya, Vat of Sulphuric Acid. This one involves two people, they are hung by their arms above the vat, their feet is chained to a metal ball locked in a metal maze at the bottom of the vat. The victims have 90 seconds to use the chains to guide the ball towards a red circle which will activate a magnet that lifts the plug up to empty the vat when the ball floats out of the maze. If they fail, the chain to the ball will have melted by then, and one by one, their hand shackles release, dropping them into the Acid and resulting in a grizzly end result. (Oh yes, there will be blood)
  • So, two things. SPOILERS AHEAD . . . . . 1. This trap appears to deviate slightly from what we've seen of The Angels thus far 2. Angel Billy here sounds more like Regular Billy. I wonder if somebody else designed this trap to frame both Nathan and The Angels?

Okay so hereā€™s what I found out completely during this entire episode while getting to detail. So like, The Angels found Nathanā€™s old ID from the hospital and this is getting me into questioning if like The Angels are playing mind games to try to traumatize Nathan after everything that has happened to him after trying to look after John before he got fired. So if The Angels are trying to do that, then itā€™s gonna get more difficult for Nathan for the time being so itā€™s a possibility that during as the episodes keep going, I can say more clues could keep happening for the time being. (Amazing episode dude! Keep it up! šŸ˜)
  • Seriously, this totally looks like a movie, congratulations JLGR, really. I don't know how you make this whole series look fantastic and great! :D

This was creative af. I like how not only does Fred have to confess to his co-workers that he's a hacker/digital pirate, but that he has to deceifer the code via the confession rather than putting the numbers that were on the screens in order. I also have a feeling Austin Williams put Nathan's old employee ID at the Office Trap crime scene. After all, he's been crossing over into vigilantism and is doing everything he could to have Nathan and Levi arrested. Just like Frank Richardson did to Danny Luna in AFT Uncovered, Adam Borsela doesn't give Nathan his Miranda Rights. I wonder why that is? I'm also curious of why the Angels put Juniper's corpse in the mummy casket and what Levi is hiding from Alexander. Update: Adam Borsela is actually a good guy as i expected.

By far the easiest claymation trap. He didn't have to torture himself to escape!
