Lyrics:

ceilings, plaster
can’t you just make it move faster?
lovely to be sitting here with you you’re kinda cute but it’s

raining, harder
my shoes are now full of water
lovely to be rained on with you it’s kinda cute but it’s

so short
then you’re driving me home
and i don’t want to leave but i have to go
you kiss me in your car and it feels like the start of a movie i’ve seen before
before

bed sheets, no clothes
touch me like nobody else does lovely to just lay here with you
you’re kinda cute and I

would say all of this
but i don’t wanna ruin the moment
lovely to sit between comfort and chaos

but it’s over
then you’re driving me home
and it kind of comes out as i get up to go
you kiss me in your car and it feels like the start of a movie i’ve seen before

but it’s not real
and you don’t exist
and i can’t recall the last time i was kissed
it hits me in the car and it feels like the end of a movie i’ve seen before before

"But you're not real, and you don't exist, and I can't recall the last time I was kissed" Those lines will hit even harder on Valentine's Day 🥲

The "but it's not real and you don't exist" part hits me every time. Thanks Lizzy for yet another wonderful song!
  • @loeeer
Just shocked by the plot twist of this song. It hit me hard. She basically composed the story that every girl, I repeat, every girl creates before going to sleep. And yet I was surprised. It's as if she had put my delusions on video. How crazy.
  • As a maladaptive daydreamer this song makes me sob cause I really don’t think any other song has captured the pain I feel when I have to stop and face reality.

For someone who is 19 years old and has never even held hands with someone, I've never related to a song more than this. Thanks for making this!
  • i instantly cry and go hug/tell my wife i love her. IDK why this song has such an instant effect on me.

The ability for musicians to create the sound of nostalgia is epic
  • @HannahLeche
I like to interpret this song as someone imagining all those moments with someone only to realize it won’t ever happen. Maybe because they don’t feel the same, they’re too scared to say something, or maybe that person actually doesn’t exist and is just an imagination of what they want.
  • @n0vellette
I've never found a song before that encapsulates the feeling of missing someone you've never met. I live alone and have never had a serious friendship, let alone relationship. I daydream all the time about my partner. Sometimes, I comment on social media as if he is a real person, recalling events in our lives that never happened. Listening to this song never fails to make my cry when I realize those lyrics are true... It's not real, he doesn't exist, and probably never will. I still need to work on accepting the fact I'm dying alone, with maybe the exception of my cats. ❤
  • @VictorSilvaDev
Bro, to be honest it's one of the best songs I've ever heard, the melody, everything is perfect, keep going
  • for me, this song is about idealizing someone that you love, but deep down you know that this person can't give you what you need. is about finally take a deep breath and let the relationship that only exists in your head go. it's painful, but, in the end, is the right thing to do.
  • @zaraaahm
This deserves driver’s license type of recognition!❤
  • @user-xe5rf8gi7s
I sung this the night before my son was born. 11 weeks past and I sung it to him before his heart stopped
  • @surajk5102

  • This song is for the the shy and antisocial people who look and want that romantic love 🥺
  • @takumiusui6667
Came after Arijit Singh recommended this song. He is India's biggest musician now, one of the top 3 in Spotify as well. I love how he recognized Lizzy. Hopefully I will like this song as well!
