Lyrics
I was distracted
and in traffic
I didn’t feel it
when the earthquake happened
but it really got me thinkin’
were you out drinkin’
were you in the living room
chillin' watchin’ television
ah it’s been a year now
think I've figured out how
how to let you go and let
communication die out
I know you know we know you weren’t down for forever and it’s fine
I know you know we know we weren’t meant for each other and it’s fine
but if the world was ending
you’d come over right
you’d come over and you’d stay the night
would you love me for the hell of it
all our fears would be irrelevant
if the world was ending
you’d come over right
the sky’d be falling and I’d hold you tight
and there wouldn’t be a reason why
we would even have to say goodbye
if the world was ending
you’d come over right
Right?
If the world was ending
You’d come over right
Right?
I tried to imagine
your reaction
didn’t scare me when the earthquake happened
But it really got me thinkin’
that night we went drinkin’
stumbled in the house
and didn’t make it past the kitchen
ah it’s been a year now
think I've figured out how
how to think about you
without it rippin’ my heart out
I know you know we know you weren’t down for forever and it’s fine
I know you know we know we weren’t meant for each other and it’s fine

This song makes me miss somebody that doesn't deserve to be missed.
-
“We weren’t meant for each other and it’s fine” That shit hurted
-
You ever hear a song that you can't relate to, but it just fills you with so much emotion, and you feel like you've lived every word? Yeah this is it.
-
I remember listening to this song when I was breaking up with someone I loved so much but who was horrible for me... now it feels so different coming to this song and crying because I found someone I love even more, who is actually healthy for me. It only took 3 years of pain and isolation and confusion. Wow, the tears of gratitude will not stop falling.
-
This song has a totally different vibe in 2020...
-
I am no longer with my boyfriend, but he came over, when my world was ending, when my brother unexpectedly lost the fight to addiction
-
My best friend of over 36 years lost his battle to depression and addiction a couple of years ago.... our fears moved us into different paths but he was always my friend and the one I would call if my world was ending..... miss my friend
-
We're all listening to the Same song Just with different Memories
-
This song did not need to beat the shit out my heart like that
-
the way they said “right” for the second time (you’d come over right? right?) it breaks my heart cause it’s like expecting someone to be with you, like you’re waiting for something that isn’t gonna happen....that you know they won’t come but you still believe that they will.
-
This song speaks to all those relationships where the people in it truly loved each other, but they had to break up for wanting different things in life that didn't align with the other, or because of materialistic reasons.
-
A boy I loved for over 5 years and still do sent me a cover of this song at 3am, about a year ago,. We dont talk anymore but whenever I think about him I listen this song and tear up remembering the memories of our friendship.
-
loving someone who doesn’t love you back is so painful.
-
this song hit differently right now. the world is literally shutting down.
-
My ex girlfriend showed me that song a few years ago. Just a few weeks ago she broke up. Now I sit at home, listening to that song all day long and I wonder whether she would come over if the world was ending. This song hurts so much but it is very beautiful at the same time
-
God, I can just FEEL the emotions emanating from the lyrics.. the way it's sung and written got me tearing up and I DON'T TEAR UP FOR SONGS
-
“you weren’t down for forever and it’s fine” i cried
-
My chest literally hurts when this song comes on
-
When this came out I was homeless, on drugs, and then jail. I now have a house, job, and husband. This song and “Clover Cage - The Chess Piece” are the two songs that helped get rid of my depression. I just want to send love to everyone and I want everyone to know things will get better. We are in this together..I love you 💕😊
