  • I was a rock guitarist. At 6 in the morning after a party my friend said "Just listen to this." I said, "Not more classical." He said, "No, just imagine you're playing this on the guitar." I just sat there with my mouth open. I've never been the same since. Thank you, Brahms, for opening the door.

I thought this was going to help me with my writing, but I ended up just watching the performance.

Her intonation is perfect. As is her tone. Beautiful playing

My dad introduced me to Brahm´s music when i was about 7 years old: many years have passed and he is not with me anymore. Listening to Brahm is like having a bit of my dad again.

She's always in complete control. What a superb musician.

Hilary Hahn is so good that she even lines up her bow hair removal with the orchestra : ) 9:54

Thank you twoset for introducing me to this incredible woman!
  • @Giannis_Sarafis
I like how Hilary Hahn enjoys the rest of the orchestra. I think you don't see it very often.
  • Brilliant. I love how she is so gracious and acknowledges the orchestra.

I use the same bath towel, with different results.

Listening to the 1st movement with occasional thunder from a storm on the horizon, I think it gives it the right feel

We have all known people who say that they are not interested in music; it does nothing for them. That is like admitting that a piece of your soul is missing. Great art, whether it be music, painting, sculpture, photography, architecture......adds so much to life that to live without it or not to appreciate it would be no life worth living. Listening to this is an audio feast.
