About 4 years ago, I released a theory saying that the movie Wall-E was about cannibalism. It was likely what solidified my place as King of Ruining Your Childhood forever. Theorists, today I am doubling down on that theory. The proof is in the pudding, or rather, it is in the cup. Where does the food come from and what is in it? Get ready for another heaping helping of people!

“Once you’ve eaten your first human, the rest go down easy” -MatPat This is what happens when you try to quarantine him for too long.
  • Gotta say, respect for Juan, who managed to lose this much weight without being able to walk. That's quite an achievement!
  • You could also have the hover chairs automatically send the humans to a food production area on the ship, this can be proven with how the humans seem to not know where they are in the ship or what facilities it has as well as the fact that they probably won’t put up much of a fight without the hover chairs to support them so once they are considered elderly they might just be executed by the autopilot
  • In One of my favorite Sci-Fi books titled “The Dark Beyond The Stars” they do exactly this. When people reach an old age, they take them to a chamber where their bodies are broken down and used as food and fuel for the ship on its generations long mission.
  • the most unrealistic part of this video is the beginning which implies matpat, with a son and four youtube channels, with a consistent upload schedule, gets any sleep
  • Off topic, but I'm really happy for Juan for being able to lose weight. it's incredibly difficult, so good on him.
  • "It would take a minimum of 397 cadavers to provide a lifetime's worth of sustenance." I love this channel
  • @MrCupcake1987
The real question is, if the humans don't walk how do the babies exist 👀
  • @belzedk
Mat: "There can't be plants on the since the people aboard have no idea what a plant is." People of Axiom: "Wow didn't know we had a pool"
  • "Couldn't they mine the moon for cheese" this person's eons ahead of our time
  • @Flightkitten
8:24 is probably the strangest and most hilarious cut I've ever seen Mat create
  • Mattpat, while I love this theory, you haven't addressed the vitamin requirements. humans need a lot of vitamins and minerals to live long healthy lives, without them you get a lot of horrible diseases, like a pirate's favorite scourge, scurvy. caused by a lack of vitamin C. Fruits and veggies are on of the only ways to get that, it's why citrus fruit is so important. Where are they getting their vitamins?
  • Why are we not talking about that Juan Pedro guy? The difference between when he held the record and when he last HALF OF HIS WEIGHT is honestly astonishing. I tip my hat to him
  • The fact that Cannibalism Week started immediately after Game Theory Anniversary Month says a lot about MatPat's psyche
  • I think they're just growing cells in the lab, like the actual technology that already exists today (search for lab meat). Maybe today it wouldn't be possible since you still need plant based substances to grow this cells into meat, but honestly I don't think it's far fetched that they learned how to get those substances even if they don't have the actual plant. Idk, it just seems more likely to me since the technology already exists. But of course, it's much more fun to imagine this crazy scenario and theorize about cannibalism in a kids movie lol
  • Something tells me that MatPat was really in a different state of mind by making 3 separate videos on cannabalism
  • “But MatPat, couldn’t they just mine the moon for cheese?” WHEN I TELL YOU THAT I HOLLERED
  • One thing I want to bring up: when does something no longer count as cannibalism? One could argue that breaking dead bodies down into individual organic chemicals that you reassemble into food is processing them about as thoroughly as, say, using them as fertilizer for plants. Also, if you are mechanically synthesizing sewage back into food, that would also vastly increase the longevity of the food supply.

Here's my contribution to disproving this theory (yes I know I'm two years late). Where is the infrastructure for making human smoothies? How did they program robots to know to recycle humans for food? Because if they all really thought they would go home after 5 years, no one would have thought about cannibalism. Also, the humans seem to be confined to a human section of the axiom. Remember there are plenty of places on the axiom where we don't see any humans. It seems plausible that there is a garden section of the ship that provides food that the humans don't visit because they have no need to. This can explain why the captain didn't know what a plant was. I also think that with BNL's technology, they could have set up a renewable food source for the 5 year cruise to save on storage space. And all the food could be artificial. I know that it's easier to get overweight on junk food than it is on organic food.
