he was a man of his times. Great character.

RDJ really is the perfect guy to play Tony Stark. I know he resents the role a little bit because it's so close to himself that he lost a bit of his acting skills he had to work to get back, but the world will always love the job he did. His own experience with drugs and alcohol also made him perfect for it. While they never did 'Demon in a bottle' in the MCU, it's still a core part of the character that RDJ embodies beautifully.

"You throw another moon at me I'm gonna lose it" I think this is best flexes.

"You can rest now." I swear those four words always make me tear up...

RDJ SO owned that part. No one else could EVER play iron man but him
  • Robert Downey jr kept sneaking snacks on set, so ever time you see him snacking in the movies it’s usually not scripted 😂
  • Ever since I saw the 1st Iron Man movie, I've always liked Tony Stark. A man who was smart, had morals, could back up his words with action (with the suit, of course, haha) was funny with his burns, & lastly, was an excellent mentor for Spiderman (as well as giving Spiderman a suit worthy for his abilities) RDJ took ownership of the role, palys Tony ZStark perfectly, made it his only, which is quite the feat given he hasn't always had the Stark lifestlye although a talented actor (just saying, delicately, haha) RDJ is Iron Man. Even had the PS2 game, which was pretty cool

Thanos said it perfectly. "Stark, You're not the only one who is cursed with Knowledge'.

07:46 I like how the "We're not there yet" misinterpreted hug in Homecoming foreshadows the huge hug Tony Stark gives Peter Parker in Endgame. When I saw them hug in Endgame I immediately remembered this scene. 🙂

When Stark told Steve that he was useless, I believe he was talking in the context of the room, a lab with 2 genius scientists, creating Ultron I think. Since Rogers couldn't really help with that, he was useless under the circumstance. It was Starks way of telling Rogers to go away!

Probably the greatest flex to me is the court scene in Iron Man 2. He makes a public fool of his rival Justin Hammer, and puts up a pretty good fight against the court trying to take his suits. He is so witty and I love it. Especially when they ty to pin him, only for hi to hack their systems and put up embarrassing evidence of his own showign the other countries and ven Justin Hammer failing miserabbly, especially Justin as his suit killed a man in a brutal way live on tv.
  • I love RDJ, its like he was born for the role, i just love the way he can make a joke anywhere at anytime

RDJ playing Ironman is like Ryan Reynolds playing Deadpool... Sure other folks can do it and probably do it well... but those two were their characters they just are Tony Stark and Wade Wilson just are RDJ and Ryan Reynolds, and so long as they are willing to play the roles (regardless of cost) I think it would be wrong to give the role to anyone else...

26:54 That isn’t the Mk. II suit. The Mk. II is the silver suit taken by Rhodie and turned into the War Machine suit. The Mk. I suit is the one he built in captivity. This is actually the Mk. III suit

The endpoints of the Ironman arc, with Cap saying "You aren't the guy who's going to lay it down for the cause..." Then at the very lat moment, facing Thanos and the probable end of all things... Doing precisely that, puts a big fat satisfying bow on a the gift that was Ironman. RBJ filled those nanotech shoes perfectly.

The Jericho scene from Iron Man is so iconic that Blizzard's Zandalari Princess Talanji, imitated it in the Horde intro cinematic from Battle for Azeroth. That final "I am Iron Man" was showing Cap that he was the man to 'lay on the wire'
  • One of the funniest roasts for Tony towards Steve to me was in the first Avengers movie after Romanoff said they were on a threat list. If you listen closely as they all start to argue you hear Tony say to Steve "You're on that list? Are you above or below angry bees?"
  • @billdenial3536
Cap: you’re not the man to make the sacrifice play. Tony: and I took that personally
  • I only just learned this recently but the shawarma scene in avengers was actually filmed after production had wrapped up for the movie and Chris Evans was already cast in another role with different facial hair. So they had to get all the actors back together to film it and cap is posed so you can’t see his face
