English Cream Golden Retrievers are the most controversial style of Golden Retriever.

The Golden Retriever Club of America says the term is a marketing ploy to get people to pay more for a Golden Retriever puppy. But is it true?

The biggest claims about English Cream Goldens is that they’re healthier, live longer, more expensive, and have better temperaments than other Golden Retrievers.

They have cream-colored, almost white coats, blocky heads, and they’re stockier than other Goldens, but that doesn’t necessarily mean they’re healthier or more valuable.

In this video you’ll learn which rumors are true and which are false about these beautiful Golden Retrievers.

We have had many goldens over the last 30 years. Each one had a different personality and all were fabulous dogs. Currently we have a 4 year old 'english cream' Smartest, most trustworthy dog I have ever seen. His comprehension of the English language never ceases to amaze me. Totally non destructive. He still plays with stuffed toys he had when he was a puppy. On the other hand he is the least lovey dovey golden we have ever had. He wants to be near you but not on top of you. He is like a person. We could not love him more!

I have this breed. He is a very loving, jealous, lazy, and food motivated dog. I would recommend this mix for people who like a larger dog while living in the city. He still loves his walks, but anything over 2 miles and he's hitting the cold linoleum floor, belly first while napping as soon as we get back.

Have had a Golden (wonderful dog) and now an English Cream from Denmark. She is the most chill dog I've ever had.

I’ve just bought a cream golden from a Welsh breeder, had him for 3 weeks from 9 weeks old. Absolutely stunning little boy, a little stubborn😂 but so lovely. Great channel. Woofs to Oliver.
  • Our cream boy came from Russia he was 8 and we lost him last year. He was huge and stunning plus loved so much. We were lucky to be his rescued parents. We know have a ten month old nutter who is golden cream. He is the completely different to our other boy. Which is good as no comparison between them. He also is very loved.

We have a cream golden. She’s 10 months old and a delight. My sister in law’s family has a 2 year old gold golden and they just met for the first time. Our girl is definitely more chill even though she’s younger, but both are the sweetest dogs. We actually didn’t set out to get a cream but the breeder was the most professional and informative of the ones we looked at so we went with them :)
  • I have an English cream. she’s 2 and she is the sweetest thing I have ever met.
  • OMG I have my English retriever his name is Marshall. He turned 2 this year Easter and he's such a good boy, kind with kids and very friendly with other dogs. He's only gotten mad at me for tickling his paws and he ended up kicking me in the face later that day 😂😂😂. I got mine for basically free, already trained, house trained, potty trained and leash trained. Best adoption I've ever made he's scheduled to live another 11-12 years

I have 2 English Cream Golden Retrievers. Both were purchased from an AKC certified breeder. My girl Daisy is tiny, maybe 50 pounds, and has a three generation pedigree. My boy Harley is huge 85 to 90 pounds and a complete hyperactive goofball! Both have completely different personalities, and both are a handful! I have had many dogs in my lifetime and the smartest breeds are the worst to handle.
  • My English cream girl was beautiful and calm. She died of a brain tumor at 9 last year. She starting having seizures and we couldn’t stop them. Saddest days. We are heartbroken. We are getting another puppy in 7 weeks from same breeder. She will be 1/2 cream golden and 1/2 poodle. She will be a F1 standard. Cant wait. Supposedly she will have hyper vigor. We plan to feed her a raw diet.
  • I live in England and enjoy your videos; they are very useful and informative. I have had three Goldens: one female and two males. My first was a very dark gold. My second was light gold. My third is what you would probably describe as an English Golden Retriever, almost white cream in colour. All my Goldens were born and bred in England. The first two each lived to fourteen years and although one developed testicular cancer it did not kill him. My present Golden is just over a year old so I look forward to another thirteen years with him. In England the only distinction usually made between different types of Golden is whether or not they come from a working strain; colour is not usually a factor when it comes to price of the puppy.
  • My neighbor has two English Creams named Barrette and Wren. Barrette is the older one, and he’s my favorite, he’s also a little overweight, which makes more lovable when combined with with his large amount of fur.

One reason I wanted the english cream color is it is easier to find ticks on your dog and get them out faster.
  • Honestly, I just want a lighter golden because the golden I had as a child was lighter colored. She was just such a wonderful creature that I want my future children to be able to have a relationship with an animal of that caliber.

Once again, great job explaining characteristics of the Golden Retriever breed!
  • I have a cream golden & I love her very much. She’s much calmer than the yellow goldens, but every dog’s temperament is differnt

I have a English cream golden named Levi (If I had my way he would be Doug) and he is the sweetest little fluffy ball ever. His head is so big and it makes him just extra cute.

Me sitting with my cream boy watching this staring at the other dogs makes me so happy.
