  • I kinda think it's important NOT to let the dog have his way. So, he's stressed. He'll get over it once the groom is finished and the more he doesnt get his way, the more he'll learn to just stand there until it's over. At least that's what my groomer says.

“You’re OK” @4:03 “Lady, you can’t be serious” side eye was GOLD

It does crack me up how Golden Retrievers will act like you are bathing them in lava, but if they see a mud puddle it's like a kid at a water park 😂
  • Teddy is struggling with his anxiety. Love tho how every now and again, he gently touches Vanessa with his paw.... saying sorry, I am just a little scarred. ❤
  • @DaniSiegel700
Vanessa drying him with a straight face while he runs around barking has the same energy as a parent following their screaming toddler around who’s complaining abt smth like not getting a third cookie 😂😂💖💖

"Hey, don't do the lip lift." Just made me chuckle. She is so good!
  • @rishnot16
The level of patience demonstrated by her was next level, the dog became calm in the end.

I love the compulsion so many dogs have to keep trying to shake paw. It makes me laugh in these videos whenever a dog like this is stressed out but still has the mind to keep offering his paw.
  • I worked with special needs, autistic, and abused children all my life. I have learned that being patient and not expecting every child to reach certain goals is exactly what these children need. Although children and dogs are not the same species, they have the same personality traits and working with dogs is much like working with children. I know, because when I got completely burnt out from working with all these children, I started working with dogs at doggy day cares, shelters, vet clinics, dog grooming places, and sanctuaries. Much of what I learned from my degree in early childhood development and special education, I found it to be much related to working with dogs. Sometimes the goal has to be not forcing any child or dog to endure a certain level of stress. I could not agree more with you Vanessa, and I so appreciate you being patient with Teddy and explaining why you handled this situation the way you did. No dog, child, or human being can be expected to behave exactly as you'd like them to. Children mess up, and so do dogs and adults. I have learned a lot from you Vanessa and I thank you for that:)

The periodic paw shake he kept doing was too precious, though. He may have been scared, but it's like he was still trying to be a good boy. ❤❤❤
  • Beneath all the bluster Teddy is a real sweetheart. You brought out the best in him.
  • "I really very much do not believe I am okay!!!" 😳 😂❤ Great job Vanessa!!!
  • My 4yr old was using the blanket method on her stuffed poodle yesterday. Because it wasn't being calm. She was using her toothbrush to groom her dogs. 😊
  • @nicenancy7694
He doesn't like loud noises, he just like to make loud noises, lol.
  • @swagman7704
not understanding a dog’s limit is what terrifies them of further grooming. vanessa is wonderful for understanding that, and that’s what makes her the professional groomer 💀
  • @tamelaculp57
Your patience and understanding of what can and what cannot be done is next level.
  • Vanessa: This is fine, you're fine. Teddy: This is most definitely NOT FINE. Poor Teddy, such a sweet anxious boy. 😍
  • @SusanMJB45
Teddy is such a handsome fella..... and Vanessa, the dog whisperer....... got Teddy to trust her more and more as the groom progressed. Great job !!! He's a sweet dog......... Well done Teddy.
  • Cool! The next time I get my hair cut, I'm going to run around the hair salon and have that hair stylist chase me around the salon with the hairdryer because it does look like it's a lot if fun.
