Here’s another part of my interview with Jamie Kern Lima.
In this segment, Jamie and I get into how people get labeled early in life (I’m still Eddie Spaghetti to a lot of folks) and how hard it can be to overcome the insecurity and damage those labels can do.

You’re also going to hear a great story about my first grade teacher, Mrs. Smith, and how she changed my life with a single act of kindness.
It’s still one of the must beautiful things anyone has ever done for me, and it’s wrapped up in a lesson you can use in your life, too!

  • I was raised with a Mother who constantly told me that I'd never amount to anything. Unfortunately I've lived up to that. I'll be 60 in 2 months and I'm still fighting that, and yes, I'm a screw up, I never did amount to anything. Sad thing is that I gave her that power over me, my Mom is gone now but it still affects my life
  • Ed, I absolutely love the story about Miss Smith and pulling you out of the classroom because you were the smart kid. That story literally gives me chills and reminds me of my childhood, I was never the smart kid, talented kid, or the kid with any abilities at all. I was never the chosen one for anything. I absolutely love the story, thank you for sharing.
  • This came exactly at the right time. Blessed you Lord 🙏🙏🙏
  • Thanks Again! What strikes me the most while listening to your podcasts and I think the reason you connect with so many so easily is your humility. Thank you for always providing content that allows me to take away at least one(majority of the time multiple)tool that can be used for me and family as I become the one. 👊
  • @simocast
You are amazing Ed, I listen to your podcasts during training. I use to listen to music, now I listen to you 👌
  • I get so excited every time I see a new podcast!!! What I learn from your podcasts....I share with others. May it be from a physical share or sharing the knowledge o have learnt. Thank you for being YOU!
  • Thank you! Another great video! I discovered you a few weeks ago and have been absolutely loving your videos lately, this is another great one! I find myself going back and watching your videos over and over because they have such powerful information! Thank you.
  • You were so fortunate to have a teacher like that. I was very shy as well and my grade one teacher, who funny enough was also Mrs Smith, made me stand in front of the classroom and tried to force me to talk. I wouldn't, so she slapped me across the face in front of the whole class. So devastating to me😢

I truly believe this is your calling. The way you present your message is always so clear and incredibly relatable. Your content almost always answers a question or need, that sometimes I don’t even realize I have. You are one of my mentors. I cannot put into words how much your content has helped me in my business and in personal life processes. Thank You Ed and God bless you!
  • Ed, your story really made the tears unexpectedly well-up. Thank you for sharing and giving me many things to take into consideration about my youth and all the emotional baggage that came from that time of my life.🙂
  • I found your channel 2 days ago and I am so glad I did! Your messages are spot on, what I need to hear. 👍
  • @bbeal315
The whole interview is worth the watch...so good. Thank God I had a mother told always told me I could be anything....my father said I would amount to nothing....I have shown him....I am the one in my family....
  • Thank you so much for this beautiful message ❣️ I needed this as this very moment. Continued blessings to you and your family ❣️🙏🏽
  • Thank you ED and Jamie!!! I love learning from you guys!!!♥️♥️ Thank you Ed for always sharing you childhood stories!🙏👏🙌
  • Wow that was powerful. That was me all through my school years. I was made to feel i wasn't good enough and this was back before the internet and cell phones. There were many times i just didn't want to continue living. Its something that seems to dictate your life even as you get older. I will be 45 this year and i still struggle with these problems. I didn't have anyone to talk to about anything growing up so now i have to deal with things so i can be a better man and be the person i know i am. Thanks Ed, i needed to hear this!
  • You are loved Eddie! And you are special & very intelligent! You inspire me🕊
  • @annas163
I love how you found courage to make your life what it is...! Amazing!👏👏
  • Hi Mr Mylett, thank you for sharing your heart in this program. I wore two labels both were detrimental. The children I went to school with called me Monique the geek! I was a breach baby, and my mom used to tell me all the time, saying also to ANYONE who would listen, that I was born back assward and I would always be back assward. It wasn't until I turned 30 that I saw myself as better than that! Still, those words try to get me down especially when I am not getting the results I work towards.
  • Wow! This really had me crying. Mrs Smith is a diamond ❤️
