  • During Steve’s early career fellow musicians were amazed at what a powerful voice such a small statured man had. He was only 5’2” but had a voice of a giant. Steve has a daughter who’s a remarkable talent as she can sing lead or back up. RIP Steve
  • Steve Marriott never hit a stage where he didn't bring absolutely everything that he had. The man's passion and fury was matched by very, very few.
  • one of the best rock voices, ever" along with noddy holder" both never got the credit they both deserve" live they were fantastic"
  • I was a freshman in high school when Smokin was released. I must have listened to that album 1000 times that year. Knew nothing about Marriott though. Thanks. Good job.
  • By far one of the greatest rock singers ever all or nothing . Afterglow of Ur love . RIP ..
  • I think the perfect example of how talented Steve was, is the fact that it took Ron Wood AND Rod Stewart to replace him in a band. That’s pretty talented.
  • That was great, I had never heard any of his story previously, he was his own worst enemy, such a talent. Awesome episode Jeff
  • Steve was an absolute beast! I see him in the same way I see Robert Plant, Paul Rodgers, Rod Stewart, Chris Farlowe, and Terry Reid. Damn, just listed my six favorite English singers.
  • Keith richards said steve is the best vocalist to come out of the 60s and he helped steve out financially
  • Really enjoyed the vid Jeff - I still play Rockin The Fillmore which is a neglected live classic
  • The Small Faces are likely the most underrated band of the 1960s, at least in The States. Tin Soldier is a masterpiece.
  • What a completely unexpected treat, Steve fucking Marriott! You've just made my day friend! Thank You!
  • I knew Steve very well. I used for a while to play keyboards with his band, known at the time as the "Official recievers". There's something fishy about the story that he probably started the fire with a lit cigarette. I know for a fact that Steve used to roll his own cigarettes. Everyone who has ever rolled their own cigarettes knows that unless a roll up is puffed on continuously, it will go out in no time. How Steve managed to burn down a house with a roll up is anyone's guess. Just saying.
