Tana isn’t famous, she’s infamous. That’s why everyone knows her despite not having the biggest following.

I always found Tana's story kind of sad. There's something that seems so real about her unlike some of the other 'problematic' creators. Like I knew so many girls like her in high school who just had a terrible home life and fell into the wrong things early on. Any one of them could've been her. And the unfortunate thing is I'm not sure much will ever change with her, at least not in the near future - she goes through the same cycles of behaviour over and over. I think she partly originally used Youtube originally as a coping mechanism where she could get the love and attention she lacked from her parents and tell some of her traumatic, and other storytimes and turn it into funny, exaggerated entertainment that people actually wanted to hear about and watch. She could be self-deprecating and air all her insecurities which would only cause her fans to tell her how much they loved and respected her. But I think now her reputation has taken away all consequences for the things she does and so she is rewarded with attention for the atrocious behaviour she does.

i really wish more people talked about how she fully lied about dating mac miller and still, to this day, constantly milks his death as a way for her to get clout and attention. that's ultimately what caused me to stop supporting tana, and literally no one ever talks about this.
