Arya Stark kills the Night King - Very few of us expected the White Walker war to end midway into the final season. Most expected Jon Snow to deliver the killing blow, given his central role in the war against the dead. Maybe Daenerys would destroy the king of the dead with dragon fire. It was a Stark who gets the honor, just not the Stark anyone expected — but Arya’s role in killing the Night King and the White Walker threat isn’t without a whole lot of setup.

Mostly what I remember about this episode was that you couldn't see a damn thing because it was so dark.

Thank you Night King, for trying to save us from the last episode.
  • This felt like Hermione killing Voldemort after all the prophecies saying Harry was the one 😅

Night King was one of the most enigmatic characters ever produced in a series... turned into ice cubes after doing nothing.

Arya spent like 4 seasons becoming a stealth assasin and then just runs really fast screaming
  • I'm not questioning the season 8. I'm denying its existence.

Every time I see this scene I am reminded of Gimli's line out of the one Lord of the Rings movie. "That still only counts as one!"

Brann being recognized as the threat is what should have been the most important part of these scene

The amount of rage I felt after this episode is undescribable. "The Long Night" utterly destroyed all the build-up for Jon and the Night King's fight and story arcs. This was JON's spotlight, and yet if you remove him from the episode, nothing changes. And the worst part to me is that the Night King's actor, other than being very skilled, is an insane swordsman in real life. They could've pulled out an incredibly badass and epic duel with Jon, but they fucking DID NOT.
  • “It’s Starkin time.” And then she Arya’ed all over the White Walkers
  • So many ways Arya could do this. So many skills she could use. And yet they just make her run, screaming.

Bran scored the best participation trophy in the history of participation trophies

Bran sat there smiling because he knew exactly what was about to happen.

Arya flew in like a goon in Gotham. The running jumping shouting charge never fails to get you caught in mid air.
  • "Actually it'll be super easy, barely an inconvenience!"

You know, Arya is one of my favorite characters, and tbh, I liked that she killed the Night King with the same move she did training with Brienne. But seriously, the writers screwed up big time with the background of the characters this season. Jon Snow spent a good part of the show preparing to fight the Night King, only to end up not even getting the chance. If they had put the fight between The Night King and Snow, with him almost dying, and then Arya arriving SILENTLY as the perfect "no one", that she trained to be, it would have been epic.
  • I didn't mind that Arya killed him but they should have shown jon fighting him and losing trying to protect bran when Arya came in and did this
