I have already made a similar video early in 2021 but over the past year or so I have been using new lenses on different projects so I thought I would update the list and make a quick video since I still get asked all the time about the lenses I use.

In this video I talk about the lenses that I use the most for my documentary and travel work as well as some that should be strongly considered for any 6k, 6K g2 and 6k Pro user.

Hopefully this is helpful to you guys.

Let me know if you have any questions :).

Cheers,
Flo

Here are my current favourite lenses to use with my BMPCC6K and 6K PRO. What are yours? Cheers, Flo
  • @jnivens
I love your channel, man! There are so many Youtubers that only focus on the negatives of the bmpcc line, (which there are some, obviously) but most of them don't even know how to use their gear properly. You get consistent, beautiful footage every time! You know your stuff, and it shows. Thanks for sharing!
  • @raksh9
Thanks for the updated lens line up. I often shoot in S35 on the Panasonic S5, so these lenses make a lot of sense for me, too. The Sigma is a very versatile lens, and along with a 24-105, handles almost all situations except for those requiring long reach. I have a Canon 70-200 like yours, but only use it now and again. I'm increasingly interested in the Zeiss Classic lenses in EF mount for their smooth focus action and crisp rendering and contrast.
  • such a great video. Normally these type of videos only show 1.500$ plus lenses that are inaffordable for a beginner so im very thankful that you also showed "all in one"-lenses that are actually fairly cheap. Thank you.
  • @EricSelle777
Thanks for everything you produce on this channel! It never fails to inspire. If you only had a budget for one anamorphic lens on a full frame sensor, which would you pick, 35 or 50mm?
  • @alecmolina3005
Im a film student and would really like your advice on which lense is the best? I also have the black magic 6k
  • @ChrisFranklinJr
Excellent video, Flo! Hope to film something with you one day!
  • @MrIanWebb
Have you tried the Canon EF-S 17-55mm f/2.8 IS Lens? It's doesn't have tons of character, but for run and gun, handheld documentary work, it's a dream. I also use it as a gimbal lens, it's light, has a perfect range and the IS removes any micro jitters from gimbal work.
  • My favorite lens is definitely the cine-modded Contax Zeiss Distagon 28mm f2.8, not that I have much choice since this year I decided to rebuild my lenses set, and therefore in addition to the Distagon I have a Planar 50mm f1.7 also It's cine-modded and a couple Canon FD's that I hardly ever use and maybe I should sell: the 28mm f2.8 and the 35-70 f4
  • @alxpalumbo
That contax zeiss is definitely the prettiest image out of those lenses!
  • @alecmolina3005
If i want to make horror movies and just films in general which lenses do you recommend the sigma 18-25 or the meike cinema lense you mentioned?
  • I use a BMPCC4K and I'm trying to decide between MEIKE or Laowa for my first cinema lenses. I've seen your reviews for the MEIKE cine lenses and they look stunning, and from what I can find more affordable than Laowa's cine lenses. Though I first saw the quality of Laowa's lenses from your channel and I became obsessed with the image. Have you used Laowa's cine lenses before, and if so how do you like them compared to MEIKE's?
  • @Gaga3717
Would you recommend the 16-35 f4 IS over the 16-35 f2.8 iii? I use my Bmpcc6kpro with a gimble 90%of the time and need the lens for my fullframe Canon RP for stills as well ☺️
  • @Lathrop_Media
I am thinking of getting a 6k G2 as I have the Sigma Art 18-35 and 50-100, do you think these two lenses would be sufficient initially? (Currently using the Canon r7& r8 with a couple rf "L" series f/2.8 lenses, which I plan to keep)
  • @frankfeng2701
    Budget alternatives: Tokina 11-20 f/2.8, Sigma 18-35 f/1.8, Sigma 50-150 f/2.8, Samyang 85 T1.5
  • @stwostudio
  • @kellywinsa4929
What is the difference between the Reflex and not reflex version of this lense? There is a big difference in price. Thanks for your videos, which I am learning from.
  • @maxdudenkov8013
Thank you for the video. I am in the market for BMPCC 6K Pro and lens. I see that the sigma 18-35 mm has full-frame equiv of 28-56 mm. So technically the canon 16-35 mm is noticeably wider than Sigma? Also with crop factor of 1.558x, the canon 16-35 mm effectively becomes 25-54 mm and 18-35 mm would be 44-87 mm? Am I correct with that assumption?
  • @diazfilms
I absolutely love the S35 Meike lenses thanks to you. I heard there's a 12mm coming is that true? Also looking forward to the 75mm review 🎬👍
