Anna Sawai talks 'Shogun'

If you aren't watching Shogun, you are seriously missing out on one of the best TV series of the last decade, at the very least. Anna is absolutely captivating as Mariko and the latest episode was both shocking and heartbreaking for her character. I have full faith that the showrunners will stick the landing with the final episode next week! Can't wait!

Her performance in the latest episode left me speechless, amazing job! Bravo Anna !

Phenomenal actress. Love her character.

Anna Sawais portrayal of Mariko is not only the best acting I have seen all year, it’s some of the best acting I have ever seen. Building on one of the most incredible, strong and complex characters ever put to paper, the show was able to elevate Mariko into new dimensions; The writers gave Mariko focus and stoicism, and Sawai gave her heart and raw, unbridled power. Not many people can believably play a one-man army able to topple an empire. What a lightning storm of a performance she gives in episode 9 and all throughout this series. I can’t think of anyone more deserving of an Emmy.

Her performance is pure perfection! Intelligent and touching.

i fell in love with Mariko when i first read the book i fell in love with Yoko Shimada when I saw the original miniseries i fell in love with Anna Sawai watching the current miniseries imagine what my heart feels right now going through THAT three times over. 😕

To be perfectly honest, I started watching Shogun because of Hiroyuki Sanada. I have been a huge fan of his for years. That being said, I quickly became a fan of Anna Sawai and Cosmo Jarvis. I absolutely love this show. Typically, I don't watch Series, until they are complete. Then I beign watch them. This one is different, I find myself waiting very IMPATIENTLY, for the next one. Big hit!
