After a long hiatus, the best-selling Irish pop-rock band is about to return with a new album called Roses. But if this performance at the NPR Music offices is any indication, the group isn't afraid to dip into its arsenal of early hits.

Set List:

"Linger"
"Tomorrow"
"Ode To My Family"
"Zombie"
"Raining In My Heart"

I am listening to this in 2022, I cannot help but shed some tears for the beauty that we lost in 2018. RIP you beautiful queen. You will never be forgotten

Her voice personifies simultaneously strength and vulnerability. I think that is what makes listeners shiver. The emotional range reaches.

Watching this near the end of 2023, and the loss of Dolores O'Riordan still hurts. What a singular talent she was. Zombie still gives me chills all these years later. Every lilt and keening wail hits so hard.

Does anyone else get the shivers when she hits her unique vocal sounds?
  • Zombie is probably the most iconic song of this extraordinary band, but Linger for me is their masterpiece.

Reasons like this I'm grateful for the internet. Saving such performances after time takes the artist.

Iā€™ve gone down the rabbit hole of Tiny Desk Concerts. This one is the best. The charm if actually feeling like they just showed up and were asked to bring out guitars is amazing. The production feels dated, but it makes it so charming . They just look happy playing their songs. It is so rock n roll. They took the request to play Zombie, and obviously didnā€™t plan on playing it but did it anyway.

My mother taught Dolores in secondary school, said she was always very sweet and quite in her own world. A real creative. R.I.P the world lost such a wonderful soul šŸ’”

Her voice is so unique, it's fantastic. And the songwriting is just as distinctive. Such a great band.
