The Count of Saint Germain is an enigmatic historical figure who has fascinated for centuries. Diversely labelled a swindler, an adventurer, a friend and counsellor of kings and princes, and a madman, he is best remembered for being a great occultist, a mystic said to have had such command over secret alchemical knowledge that he possessed the Elixir of Life - making him a real life immortal.

  • In the late 1960s my good friend Keith Ashton, was a well known Radio DJ. One night he received a phone on air, from St. Germaine. When asked by Keith to give some indication of his identity, the caller simply answered: " For you, time will stay still, for me it is always so.." As Keith was thinking out loud how to respond, the blood drained from his face, as he realised the clock on the wall had indeed stopped.

I love the story of the Count. And for many known and established people of the past to mention meeting such a man makes the story even more intriguing.
  • I once encountered Count St. Germain in New Orleans right after Hurricane Katrina while working as a Louisiana State Special Officer stationed in the French Quarter along with a squad of National Guard. It was basically deserted with no power and horrible crime everywhere and out of nowhere a very well dressed man came up to us and casually said ( It's a nice night out for Jack. ) and gave us a strange smile. I was so unnerved I had drawn my firearm without even realizing it which I never do and we looked at each other and then looked back to him and he was gone. One of the National Guard soldiers jumped in the Hum-Ve and manned the .50 caliber machine gun and we hit the spot light but he just wasn't there. We later mentioned this to one of the priests at St. Marys Catholic church next to the Ursaline convent and he said we had met the Count. I saw many strange and unexplainable things down there many I will never be able to forget.

I read about the count a few years ago. I started pulling the same stunt. When out socially I frequently refer to being at events that were years before my birth and when people ask in amazement I answer vaguely. I also keep my source of income under wraps - and yet people can plainly see I am quite wealthy. It's a fun game.
  • I met a "young" woman some 40 years ago who claimed some connection to Saint Germain. I don't recall the nature of her connection, but I do remember a feeling I had in her presence; she was powerfully enchanting, and infused with a profound melancholy. I was instantly infatuated with her, and unfortunately never saw her again.

I have made considerable study of the Comte St. Germain over the past 30 years, along with other subjects of the occult. He was recognized in the 1830's in a train station in Paris by a woman that was a young girl associated with the court of Louis XVI and Queen Marie Antoinette 4 decades earlier with no aging whatever. Furthermore, he is noted as being in attendance at the Great Masonic Convention of 1932 in Paris. I assume he will continue to pop up here and there for a long time to come.
  • I'd love to meet this man. Not to hear his secrets but to learn from him
  • I was actually waiting for Laura to cover this infamous character. You've done a great job. Thank you for the amazing quality of contnet which you give us. Lots of love.

This brings back memories,I remember reading about St. Germain and Nicolas Flamel when I was studying books on Alchemy in the early 90's.
  • I actually just started reading Unveiled Mysteries the other day. It was under the esoteric/occult section with another book called the Most Holy Trinisophia. Both involve St. Germain
  • My late mum and her cousin were in Amsterdam on holiday and sitting in an outdoor cafe when a well-dressed gentleman approached them and asked if he could sit with them as there were no seats available, they said yes. Mum said he spoke perfect English and he asked them both how their holiday was going. As they were talking, mum mentioned she had lectured in art history at a university in the Netherlands on Vermeer and Caravaggio. The gent nodded his head and spoke about both of the artists as if he had personally met them. He also spoke about the murder of Tomassoni (I think that's the name) and how he had seen Caravaggio murder him. All this time, while mum and her cousin were drinking coffee, this man only sipped on mineral water. When mum told me about him, I said "Well, I think you met the Count de St Germain" and showed her some articles on him.
  • Being a long time scholar of St. Germaine myself, I want to thank you for a very well researched and extremely well presented video. I've always enjoyed your work and admired your diligence, but I think you may have outdone yourself on this. Thank you.
  • @yaelewis
This "count" character is obviously a time traveller, not from this realm. Very interesting video. Keep them coming :)
  • I am so glad you covered this person. I have been equally curious, fascinated and skeptical of him. Thank you for another great video
  • @drenx87
Found about this fella from the animated series Castlevania Netflix series... was shocked to find out that he's a legit historical figure.
  • Thank you, I have been fascinated by this man since I was young having read the story of the man who shouted 'hurry up' to Jesus while he was on his way to execution at Calvary. Jesus apparently told him 'I'll be dead soon enough, however you will walk this earth an eternity'.. Then of course this Count St Germain fellow shows up throughout history in places where only the most privileged have access delighting guests with his immeasurable talents.. Well narrated and presented by the way, our host has a timeless beauty and voice that could also be from 600 years ago or even last week.
  • @dars5229
Sounds kinda like an early urban legend. Like, we can't take everything from history at face value. Methinks people were just having a bit of fun with a pre-internet meme. Chuck Norris not having been invented yet, they amused each other by sharing stories and "facts" about a public domain character whom anyone was free to embellish. "Oh, you saw him in the French royal court? Well, my friend's uncle's servant's brother's lover's twin's cousin saw him at the signing of the Declaration of Independence. He looked well, by the way."
  • @kayisthey
This video was remarkably fascinating! Until watching this, I didn’t realize the Doctor Who episode “The Girl in the Fireplace” was based on Madame de Pompadour’s experience with the Count, cleverly implying that the Count was the Doctor.
