About All In The Family:
One of the most acclaimed comedy series of all time, All in the Family with Archie Bunker as the irascible, highly opinionated, working-class family man who viewed the world on his terms and his terms only. When not arguing with his liberal son-in-law, "Meathead," Archie took refuge in his long-suffering wife, Edith, who tries her best to understand Archie's conservative ways and outdated beliefs.

I'm a black woman and this is one of my favorite shows. There was no hiding. It was an open, honest representation. I'm a 90s baby and ,now, everyone hides their true feelings just to remain politically correct.

As a black person in my 30s this never ever offended me I loved this show

My dad loved this show. He would laugh until he cried. I would give anything to hear him laugh again. See you in heaven 🎉
  • I'm a Puerto Rican and my family always loved this show. We are all highly educated do we understood the site and the times. Still brings back fond memories of the family coming together. ❤️ Sad that a show like this would never survive in today's social media era.

As a young kid I remember this being my fathers favorite show, wish I could hear that laughter one more time.
  • It's interesting that the social problems they discussed 50 years ago are still being talked about today. "All In The Family" was a show ahead of its time. A real honest to goodness classic.

A SHOW THAT CROSSED THE BOUNDARIES AND NO ONE WAS OFFENDED. GENIUS

All in the Family was one of the most progressive, groundbreaking American tv series every made. It seemed a miracle it made it on regular television without getting censored. Norman Lear made people think. I loved every series.

“I stopped in the gents room the udder day, so help me there was a guy in there with a ponytail, my heart nearly turnt over on me, I thought I was in the wrong terlit ..” Archie Bunker😂🤣😂
  • I love how this show poked fun at how bigoted Archy Bunker was without dehumanizing him and showed good and bad parts of him like all of us we are not perfect
  • @modspell
I was a teenager when my folks used to watch this and now I’m Archie’s age. This is exactly what we need today, for everyone to get over themselves and BE themselves. Norman Lear was a freaking genius.

This was the show that revolutionized television. I mean it really blew it up completely. One minute we were watching I Dream of Jeanie and Petticoat Junction and the All In The Family hit the airwaves and television became real. In the next season we received Mary Tyler-Moore, M*A*SH* and Sanford & Son.

greatest sitcom ever. I truly pity people who don't get this.
  • @arthurhunt642
Edith was the funniest character for me in this first show. So innocent, so honest, and gosh, so funny!
  • @pietro5266
The writing, here, is exquisite. And 50 years later, not only has this show not aged in its content, it's as timely as it ever was.
  • @ChowdahHead
Carroll was amazing how he could talk with a New York accent in one show a southern accent in another.

What a great actor Carroll O’Conner was. I don’t know how he could keep a straight face with all the funny and outrageous comments his character made. I was a pre-teen when the show aired on tv and it was one of my favorites. I also liked watching the Jeffersons. There’s a feeling of nostalgia watching these shows again; nostalgia for a wonderful by-gone era that will never come again. Where did the time go?
