We will try (and totally fail) to fill your shoes. ❀
  • Aw Eugene will ALWAYS be a Try Guy. He's just going off and trying things behind the scenes. Thanks Eugene for sharing yourself with us for these past 10 years.
  • @janevim11
I had no idea that Eugene was a writer, but seeing how eloquenty he expresses himself and makes his point clear while still sounding incredibly gentle and vulnerable, I think he's got a bright future in front of him. best of luck.

"you could never be the reason I left, because you were all the reason I stayed" 😭😭 That's BEAUTIFUL
  • @Goober510
This didnt feel like the death i was expecting.. it felt like that last meal in a friends house after you've helped them pack everything. I loved growing with you and i cant wait to see where you go on this journey Eugene. Nimona was just the tip of the iceberg for you.
  • @trbrewer00
I know Eugene has meant a lot to a lot of people. But Eugene needs to know that I myself as a 51 year old southern momma, will always look back at him as my favorite Asian son! You are a beautiful soul!
  • @britt905
I saw someone say on Instagram that replacing Eugene with 9 people seems correct and I couldn’t agree more.
  • @beebobber546
Incredibly selfless Eugene stayed with the Try Guys during the rock bottom drama, and therefore pushed back his planned exit and effectively future career. Nothing but respect for this man ❀
  • @ay6404
The clean break from Eugene is so understandable and heartbreaking, we’ll miss you Eugene!!! Can’t wait to see your endeavors in the future!!!!
  • This feels like sending a kid to college. He will always be a part of the house. So long, Eugene. You are always loved!
  • @oomay1925
I remember Eugene said he always wanted a more diverse Try Guys (especially considering he was the only queer poc) but a certain someone said the Try Guys could only be the four. Seeing the Try Guys finally evolve their cast to be more inclusive as Eugene bows out seems to perfect. Edit: grammar
  • @stevencgr
It should be highlighted again and again that Eugene sacrificed so much and delayed his departure to support his friends, to be a united front and defend his company against someone who betrayed them and risked everything. He could and should have left earlier to be honest, but he never, this shows what sort of person Eugene is, how fiercely loyal and protective he is over the people he cares about.
  • A beautiful and eloquent exit, Eugene. We love you eternally, and the difference you made was immeasurable. THANK YOU for being here.
  • @diakim753
Eugene is such an eloquent speaker. What a beautiful goodbye.
  • @kitkat7615
"I want us to look forward to those reunions with joy." We will, Eugene. Thanks for 10 wonderful years <3

I have long held Eugene in high esteem, recognizing him not only as a member of the Try Guys but also as an integral figure in my whole life. I vividly recall fervently following his journey during a significant chapter of my life, and in many ways, I have internalized his identity, character, and beauty. His conduct, unwavering thoughtfulness towards his loved ones (albeit subtly veiled by nonchalance), and his well-spoken and eloquent demeanor have profoundly shaped my perception of him. Bearing witness to his evolution as a prominent LGBTQ+ media personality has been an incredible and almost surreal privilege. Rarely have I encountered someone so unfiltered, authentic, and multifaceted. As he revealed different facets and unveiled layers of his being, my admiration and respect for him deepened. It is challenging to believe that such an extraordinary individual coexists on the same planet as I do. I consider it a great honor to have intersected with his life, despite the physical distance that separated us but bound us spiritually. I aspire to meet him again someday. He will always hold a special place in my heart, and I hope that, amidst all his endeavors, he preserves a space in his soul where the spirit of the Try Guys endures. ❀

as an illustrator who relies on social media for promoting my work but is also a private person, i've always understood and respected eugene taking a step back from certain parts of the try guys like the podcast. never have i ever took it as a personal affront or assumed it was coming from a place of elitism or arrogance, because ten years of eugene being as sincere as possible despite the fact that being accessible doesn't come naturally made it clear that that would never be the case with him. it never occurred to me to assume the worst, and i can only assume i'm not the only one who feels this way. eugene, you have being such a proud, eloquent, and important voice for east asians and queer folk for so many years. you've inspired so many to have the courage to be their true selves. i felt encouraged in my own endeavours to see that someone for whom social media didn't come naturally could still thrive in the space, and now i feel encouraged to see that you can change platforms/mediums and continue to thrive. i think one of the scariest parts of being a creative is needing to leave one thing behind to pursue something else and not always knowing if it will work. in that regard, eugene, you have been and will continue to be an incredible inspiration as both a human and an artist. thank you for sharing yourself and your work with us for so many years. good luck in all your incredible projects, i can't wait to enjoy them all.
